I very much doubt I'm going to be able to read all the SeSa stories before the reveal. I'm reading through by name so don't have any bias to pairing, and am delighted at all the Chris pairings in there. There's only one story I'm positive I know who wrote it, well apart from the ones I saw before hand anyway. I'm about 99% sure, of course that means I'm bound to be wrong *g*

I don't know what we're doing tonight, it's a choice of staying in or going to see the fireworks at the moment. But I do know we're having the in laws over tomorrow which means another buffet type affair in terms of eating. There's prawns and a huge chocolate cake defrosting as I speak and I need to go make sandwich fillings soon. Then after tomorrow it's back on the wagon in terms of healthy eating, which I'm so looking forward too.

I figure this is the perfect time to do this.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?

I went to visit LJers. In fact a year ago today I was getting ready to go down to London for [livejournal.com profile] interlock's wedding, and I kept meeting more LJers all through the year. I stayed over at [livejournal.com profile] nopseud's twice, was interlock's roomie at connotations and all sorts of fun stuff. I also started to lose a serious amount of weight which I hadn't done, well ever.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make any. I don't really rate New Year, it's just another day really. I mean, why pick the 1st of January to change stuff? You can do that at any time.

3. Did someone close to you give birth?

Yep, the sister in law.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Nope.

5. What countries did you visit?

None :(

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?

A bucket load of self confidence? No, seriously, I'd like to apply for a passport. If things keep going how they have been I'd love to come visiting one day. Yes, that's your warning to think of excuses if I express an interest ;)

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

I'm terrible at dates, but the day my niece was born.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Oh man, this year has been one of change for me. It's weird to think on it, because when you're my age it shouldn't be a big deal to go off and do stuff alone. But I guess it's losing that 7 1/2 stone. Which I've probably put back on over Christmas....eeep.

9. What was your biggest failure?

I've lost contact with part of my family again.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Sure did. The highlight of which was ending in hospital then on IV antibiotics, which thankfully could be given at home, for a week. Sadly I got used to getting broadsided with that damn infection from hell, but fingers crossed, it's been a while now.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

The usual stuff and nothing big. Books, cds, njunk, though the gifts I got some people for Christmas went over well which I was so overjoyed about. Now if only the rest would arrive.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Many many people. Both in rl and on here.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

My mam. I love her totally but when she drinks she turns into the bitch from hell and I've spent far too many nights putting up with her crap.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Paying off debts. I swear, when you're 18 and credit cards are handed your way, just say no.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Personal. Many many things to do with Corey who continues to be a shining light in my life. Fannish, I'm still such a fangirl about the popstuff. Anything any of the boys did I got excited about, but top of that is Chris' music.

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?

Many, I really can't narrow it down to one.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? happier
ii. thinner or fatter? thinner
iii. richer or poorer? A litter richer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

I wish I'd walked more.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Procrastinating, getting distracted, worrying about stupid things.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

I spent most of it in the kitchen not poisoning people *g* Also, watching Dr Who!

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?

Nope, I've had my guy I love a while now.

23. Any one-night stands?

Nope.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Supernatural and House

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

Hate's too strong a word.

26. What was the best book you read?

I have no idea. Man, that's a sad answer. I blame all the Mills and Boon books my dad's partner keeps sending my way. She's trying to brain wash me I'm sure.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

I fail at these answers.

28. What did you want and get?

I wanted more friends and I got them, very good ones too.

29. What did you want and not get?

A disposable income.

30. Favorite film of this year?

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Let me go see. I went for a drive with my boys and was made incredibly happy with so many birthday greetings from you all. Interlock wrote me an awesome story which had me flailing with delight, as did [livejournal.com profile] ninjetti75 and [livejournal.com profile] trumpeterofdoom and [livejournal.com profile] forceofisis wrote me 31 awesome kinky 3 man bus haikus. I got icons and just was so happy, because I have the best friends, and stuff anyone that makes a distinction between online and 'real' friends, because that means nothing.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Dropping much more weight.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?

Fashion? Ahahahahahahahaha.

34. What kept you sane?

Every single one of you.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Chris *happy sigh*

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The one I got the most angry about was when people had gone to our local registry office to protest again gay marriage and were saying how wrong it was.

37. Who do you miss?

My granddad.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I've met many people this year, some of who I've been fortunate enough to met in real life too. I've some awesome online friends, people who hold a big part in my heart and have done so for years. I've been so lucky to add to those people this year. No names, but they know who they are.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:

You know what I learned? That no one can change things about my life but me. It's never easy to take that first step, and many times you'll fall over and want to stay down, because it's easier to do that. I didn't want to face up to the fact I was in such a mess eating wise, but had no choice. So I started to change things, and it's hard, so damn hard at times and sometimes it sucks and you want to give up. But you know, at every step I've had people holding my hand, cheering me on, offering an ear when I've been scared and frustrated, or even giving a swift kick to the ass at times. I'll never forget A talking me through the tablets I'd been put on and helping me get my head straight, or the comments I get when I post about this stuff. And you're all fantastic, really you are, but despite all that. I've learned I have to be accountable for my own actions, and that's an important lesson to learn.

I guess in conclusion this has been one heck of a year, full of highs and lows. I've got my incredible boys who I love to bits, wonderful friends that are still around all these years later, as well as making new friendships that delight me every day. Had a whole lot of fun, put even deeper roots in the pop fandom and really, just had a blast. There's been bad days, but you know, they're outweighed by the good, and for that I'm thankful.

*sends love to you all*

Catch you on the flip side :)
