Jan. 14th, 2006 09:29 pmLate yesterday afternoon James called and told me he'd won 4 tickets to see Brokeback Mountain at our nearest cinema. He had a choice of films but picked that one as he knew I wanted to see it Thing was I hadn't been to the cinema for years, the all too real fear I'd get my ass stuck in the seats keeping me away. So I was torn, on one hand a film I really wanted to see. On the other potential embarrassment and the local newspapers running a story with 'a vat of grease and four firemen needed to pull local girl from seat' as the headline. In the end I did go, because that weight loss has to equal inches somewhere and to my surprise I was quite comfortable. Not much wiggle room yet but that'll come. The film itself was so good. Though a couple did walk out at the first sex scene, and by doing so they missed an amazing movie. I cried, as I suspected I would. Then James, the SiL and I had a good chat about it on the way home and the SiL showed even though she can be a pain in the ass she can be really good company too. Oh, and another good thing. Supernatural was advertised before the movie. Dean and Sam are quite impressive on the big screen. Very impressive indeed.
Today, in an effort to balance the over indulgence of Christmas, we went for a walk along the coast path with Tex, hitting around four miles I think. It was such a lovely day, Corey was on his bike splashing through the mud and getting filthy and we ended up at a cafe sitting outside with a coffee and watching the ocean. Then it was back home to a plate of roasted veggies and turkey while watching John Barrowman, Andi Peters and Phillip Schofield on Dancing on Ice. Though sadly Phillip stayed on non slippery ground. However that's fine because John! And Andi! And Emma Forbes was there supporting them! I so hope Andi gets to stay in, because it's Andi Peters and he's not a teletubby at all! Also, John Barrowman with glasses. Leaping around on the ice. Be still my heart, though I fear my heart may have exploded when John and Andi held hands, OMG! Andi can't leave!
Vote Andi Peters!
So yeah, even though I really enjoyed the walk my legs are aching now. I fear I may never move again, which is fine as I'm in front of my computer and I can see the tv just fine. Though I only have a glass of cranberry juice at hand to eat and drink which could be a problem.

Date: 2006-01-14 09:42 pm (UTC)Those cinema seats can be as bad as the airplane seats sometimes.
I am gonna start my first try to lose the weight I packed on due to health problems last year next week and then we can be like diet buddie. Although you are, of course, way ahead of me. :)

Date: 2006-01-16 12:36 am (UTC)I've never been on an airplane but if their seats are as bad as some cinema ones, ouch.
Being diet buddies is an excellent idea, and I may be ahead now but I'm sure you'll soon be getting rid of any extra weight too.

Date: 2006-01-14 09:44 pm (UTC)Firstly, yay you! Walking (which is more than I will ever do lol) and going to the cinema! Wasn't it good? Beautiful and shiny and just YES. I mean, tragic and all that but BEAUTIFUL! lol
Speaking of Supernatural, Sam asked if I was gonna watch it and I was like 'two hot slashy brothers and one of them's Jensen Ackles, you're kidding me right?' *g* That advert really is very lovely. And big too (it was before our showing of BBM, they obviously know their market ;o)
OMG! Andi and John and Philip and Emma! And they held hands and John was eating his crisps and had his hand on his knee and it was shiny and beautiful and I about exploded with squee and OMG!
Vote Andi Peters!
I did! Twice! *g*

Thank you! And yes, it was beautiful. I cried because I'm a sap and it was so tragic and they loved one another but it was doomed and just....yes.
They totally know their market for Supernatural. I mean, obviously they're on the same bill as the gay cowboys!
YAY! Andi! And Josh and Phillip and Emma!

Date: 2006-01-14 10:26 pm (UTC)I've been telling mom that we need to go back to eating lowfat/nofat again, but so far all she's said is "yeah we do" and that's as far as it's gone. *rolls eyes* Dad lost close to 70 pounds the last time they did it (and he's put it all back on and more) and I know even if I can't get up and about to exercise, I'll feel better if we're eating healthier again, not that I'm eating junk now. I eat healthier than either of them as it.
*hugs you tight*

Date: 2006-01-16 12:26 am (UTC)I'm surprised at how much better I feel for eating healthier. It's so easy to eat junk, plus that stuff tastes great! But in the end it's better to eat well if possible. I'm sure you eat as well as you can, I mean, you sound like an awesome cook.
*hugs tight*
