I should catch up with the last few days. But really it comes down to, James still being off work and will be for the next week or so. Both his side and my side of the family were causing problems. I was sick, and man, you know you're in trouble when even your bones hurt, Corey fell flat on his face when he was running and loosened some of his teeth. Many early mornings and late nights, Even the dog was at the vets where he was diagnosed with arthritis and is now on tablets each day. You have to laugh really.

What kept me occupied when I was bundled on the couch was finishing the books Josh sent for Christmas. They're the Anita Blake series and they rock. I was so caught up in that world of vampires and monsters. Though reading about zombies and body parts that crawl across the floor late at night maybe wasn't the best idea. We're heading out for dinner soon and I'm going to go buy book 3, and maybe give out the hints about what I want for my birthday while I'm there.

Before I go, Starwatcher said she'd be interested in how I'd answer this, so I tried but I really don't think I have a style so the answers are kind of lame.

How you know you're reading a story by Terri.

(1) It'll be between 6000 and 10000 words as that seems to be my magic number in terms of a story.

(2) It'll be written in present tense. I try to write in past tense on occasions but always slip back into present tense as I write. So now I tend to just go with that. Of course I now fear I've mixed up the tenses. Drop me a comment if I have and I'll grin sheepishly while editing to hide my d'oh side. It's early(ish), I'm having a brain blip, I'm distracted by Francis on the tv, what can I say?

(3) There's a good chance it's an AU. I like writing AUs and think world building is cool.

(4) People smile or laugh a lot. Sadly at times my stories seem to be a bunch of characters on the happy pills, especially pre beta. Someone grinning like a loon and laughing randomly? That's written by me.

(5) Any sex scenes tend to fade to black, because as much as l love reading the down and dirty stuff, writing it gives me much grief.

(6) Despite the pairing all characters will feature somehow, even if it's only through a phone call.

(7) If it's Euro!Sync there'll be at least one description of Chris that included his hair and braces. It's my story, if I find them hot so do the people I write about. We're just a happy, laughing, hair touching, braces licking, bunch around here.

(8) There'll be a good amount of description. I like trying to make the world I write about as vivid as I can. Of course whether that works or not is debateable.

(9) Man, this is hard. Okay, if you trip over a Briticism that may be my story. I do get the stories I write Brit picked but something always slips through. If you ever find one just let me know. I'll appreciate it, promise.

(10) Why did I start this? But I can make ten, I can. Right. There's a very good chance that any story of mine will feature Chris in a big way. Don't think you're safe reading in other fandoms either. I've sparkly crossed TS and Mutant X already and every fandom is fair game. Sam and Dean meeting Chris at a show, Voyager going back to the past again and beaming up the tour bus. Be still my heart at the thought of Nsync on the bridge of Voyager. So if you see an insane cross over. It could be me.

Last thing. [livejournal.com profile] spasticat Your postcard came, thank you! The skinny guy in his baby decorated leggings is pinned on the board as I speak :)

It wasn't the best week I have to say.

He sent the first two, and I've just bought the next one myself. Just hadn't had time to read it yet. I've read it's pretty much a rehash of book two, but want to see myself. Plus, I like to get things in order.

Perfect icon btw!

Question...

Braces are, by design, temporary; when their job is done, they'll come off. Will your guy still be as hot when he no longer has the braces, but only the bad hair? ::evil, evil grin::

And I like your list - especially #10. Yay, you!

PS - for the dog's arthritis, see if your vitamin store carries MSM (methyl-sulfonyl-methane or something like that) or MSM in combination with glucosamine chondroitin. It's a natural anti-inflamatory / joint lubricant that has helped several of my animals, several friends' animals, and me too. (Gimpy ankles.) Here, we can buy it in capsule form, with a powder inside the capsule; just break open the capsule and sprinkle it over the dog's food, twice a day.

As for the rest of you - sheesh! Get well soon, and be careful!

Ah but see, he had the braces taken off years ago and is still amazingly hot. Chris has in fact had the most outlandish hair, beard horns, braids, dreads, bunches, wore clothes that made me boggle, yet still I adore him *g* The bad hair and braces totally were his hottest look though.

The list was difficult to put together. I know I will have a style I just can't put my finger on what that is.

Thanks for the tip about the MSM. I'll have a look tomorrow because he's hobbling right now and it doesn't look at all comfortable. Anything that helps would be welcome.

I will be, thank you :)

Sounds like you've had quite the week!!! I hope everyone's well again soon. *hugs* Being sick sucks, but it's even worse when everybody is sick-ish, because if you feel shitty you can't really take care of someone else. I guess. Am I making sense? *headdesks*

You're making a lot of sense. As sick as I felt I still had to take care of my boys, and things seem to take ten times the effort when you're not at your best.

*hugs back* Thanks, honey.

It sounds like you could use a huge and a vacation! Jeez!

I hope things get back to normal soon for you, and that you start feeling better. My bones feel like they're hurting too, if that is any comfort. It's the weather and my back. Whenever my low back starts to hurt, it shoots pain down my legs, which makes it feel like my bones are hurting. It is quite annoying. :(

I need to go through my stories and critique them. I don't know if I have a style, either. I mean, I do. Dark. Does that count as a style? *laughs* I rarely write happy stories for the sake of being happy stories. My stories have happy endings (sometimes), but they are not generally happy to start. I write in different tenses, so that doesn't count. I break rules and make up my own. I don't know. *laughs* I should do that Top 1 thingie! It was neat reading yours!

I really could do with a vacation, I just need the money to take one now *g*

My bones have never hurt before and it is annoying, a constant ache that doesn't go away. I hope you're feeling much better soon too.

Dark sure does count as a style. I really need to re read your stories because you do write dark and that's just what I love to read.

Families. Can't live with 'em, can't shoot 'em. I hope both your families start behaving themselves soonish.

And yes, number 4, I LOVE that about your stories. *hugs you hard* Laughter is my favorite thing ever.

Gah, you're so right about families.

I'm glad you like the laughter and smiles. Despite what they go through in a story I like my guys to be happy :)

*hugs tight*

That meme is mighty fun when writers you enjoy do it *g*

(5) Dude do I hear you about the sex scenes. Each time I decide to write one, I start hating myself until it's finally over lol

(8)I love your descriptions, you paint the most gorgeous pictures sometimes on a regular basis :-)

Sounds like you've had a trying week. I do hope you will get better soon, all of you! *sends many virtual hugs and well-wishes to the whole family*

People smile or laugh a lot.

This is of the good! I like to read about happy people

Despite the pairing all characters will feature somehow

This is also a good thing! Nsync is a group, I like that your stories reflect this.

Be still my heart at the thought of Nsync on the bridge of Voyager.

Even though I really, really don't like Voyager, I would still love to read a story where this happens! Like the Nsync/Andromeda crossover you and I talked about ages ago and that I will forever pine after :-)

It wasn't the best week, no. But it's over now and things should be on the up.

This is also a good thing! Nsync is a group, I like that your stories reflect this.

I love reading Nsync as a group stories and that's reflected in my writing. So I'm glad it works for you too.

Heeee, I really like this meme. I may have to attempt it, but I don't know if I can properly analyze my style, either. I know I do have one, I think, but not so sure I could put it in words, much less 10 points, lol.

And eeeeep, Life embracing that wacky pendulum of Fate much? Oi. But gald to hear the books helped out! I knew you'd enjoyed them; I didn't know you'd been driven to them, yeesh. Stupid silly Fate. All this and the dog too, huh? But at least you seem to be through the worst of it; I sure hope so, anyway.

Enjoy the rest of the books! And hmmmmm, I may need to write more DwD for your birthday... *adds another story to the list*

It really is a hard meme to do. I suspect I have a style too but am unable to pin down what that actually is. Sure, there's things I tend to do over and over, but does that make a style. I don't know.

Well, I wasn't driven to the books as I've been reading them at night when I go to bed. Poor Jordan has been quite neglected. It's just I devoured all I had left when I needed distraction.

But things are okay now. I mean, Tex is still on the tablets and will be for life I guess, but that's nothing really.

EEEEEE for more story!

it's funny ( re:8 ) because I was just reading your Boxes snippet, and I was thinking about how vivid you describe things and felt no small amount og writing envy. my creative writing prof. last semester also told me to work on details like that. heh. sometimes I just get impatient, and I just want to get on with the action!

I really like to try and add description. I could be better I know, but it's something I still try.

There's no need for envy though, you have your own beautiful style of writing.
