turps: (It's a secret don't tell anyone.)
[personal profile] turps
I always hate it when someone talks to me when I have my headphones in. Earlier I was walking Tex up the field and suddenly became aware of two women really close. I pulled out my earphones and one of them said, I've been trying to talk to you. I said it's cold today, and just man. There's no need for attitude like that. I honestly didn't hear her, I wasn't being a bitch by dissing her attempts at conversation around the dog waste bin. Stupid woman, the reason I have the music that loud is I need the beat to get me walking faster than a crawl. Get some fast tracks and I'm away. Of course the music is a bad thing at times. Like the other night. I was nearly home when CMAR came on, and there's no way I could turn stalkerish Justin off in mid song, so I ended up walking around the block again.

Also, Kayleigh is driving me nuts. She's going to visit Lia soon but wants James to drive her, which he can't as he has no days off. Plus, Lia live near Norwich which is a heck of a long way from where we live. So she keeps phoning and texting to get me to find train or bus tickets for her. Sisters, who'd have them?

Trickyfish story is coming along, as shown by the fact I've just been to create a quiz *g* A cookie to anyone who gets the top score. I'd offer more but I'm tapped creative wise just now. Go on, you know you want to ;)

Ok, I have to ask...

What is 'cramp'? My mind is coming up blank with that...

Oh dude. You may go defriend me when you know.

Okay, long story, shortish.

There a classic badfic story where Chris is spying on JC and Lance having sex. They decide to punish him, and one way they do that is to get Chris' lava lamp, and stuff it up his ass. At which point Chris should die with his insides ripped out, because dude. Lava lamps are big, but he doesn't.

I like badfic. So, moving on. I was at a mini sparkly con at [livejournal.com profile] nopseuds house, and that story was read aloud by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] mickeym. At some point, nopseud decided Chris/lamp should obviously be called Cramp, and it's stuck.

My friends are insane and have written me cramp ficlets, and I love every one *g*

You know, to make this shorter I should have just pointed at my icon *g*

Okay, you may defriend at will now ;)

It may be that I'm a survivor of the Saint Seiya fandom, where blood is regularly used as lubricant and 'brotherly love' always, always means 'rape your twin brother', but lava lamps as dildos don't scar me as much.

And, thinking about it, calling the pairing 'cramp' makes sense...

You're right. Lava lamp dildos do pale next to that. Saint Seiya sounds like an interesting fandom all right.

Cramp makes a lot of sense. Around my journal lamp is almost seen as a person ;)

Thank you! I feel every one would be a best seller *g*

There's nothing wrong with cross dressing in itself, and I'll happily read some cross-dressing stories. It's more I was traumatised by a story I read in The Sentinel fandom. Jim, who's a big buff cop, was wearing a ickle fluffy ladies jumper, and I don't know why, but it made me shudder in a bad way. Men in skirts, I've no problem with that at all. Masculine cross dressing, cool by me. It's things like fluffy women's clothes, and I've never been able to explain how there's a difference to me. There just is.

I wish I could explain because I know it sounds lame. But there you go *shrugs* I'm weird, man *g*

If you're weird then I am too because I feel the same way. I've got nothing against men in skirts and makeup and lots of jewelry - there's a wonderful AU story by [livejournal.com profile] sirkate & [livejournal.com profile] xoverau called Sexual Dead Things (http://www.livejournal.com/users/sirkate/131341.html) with a totally droolworthy punk/goth Kevin in it - but I don't like feminisation and "fluffyness".

From: [identity profile] turps33.livejournal.com
Yeah, that's just it. It's the feminisation aspect I don't like. I want my men to be men, if they want to wear dresses and skirts doing so, fine. But I really don't want them to be all cute and fluffy.

Which is the problem with a lot of cross dressing stories. In the right hands they can be awesome, but there's a fine line between the good and bad in my opinion.

I'm glad you get what I mean, I really wasn't explaining myself well.

I thought you did, but that's probably because I feel the same way so I understood what was "between the lines" so to speak.

Most cross dressing stories I've ever tried to read have been of the cute-and-fluffy kind - in popslash too - so these days I usually don't even bother to try. Do you know of any popslash cross dressing stories that are worth reading?
