Feb. 9th, 2006 05:49 pmI think my family is trying to kill me off. First nanna came by to drop off Corey's card this morning. I was eating breakfast at the time and the first thing she said was, your house looks like everything's been picked up and thrown down. Which yeah, it did, because I'd got Corey off to school, James to work, walked the dog and was eating before doing the tidying. Admittedly it looked worse than usual because I'd left most of the stuff the last few days due to feeling rough. She didn't say anything else though, I think my puffy eyes and red nose of doom were proof enough I really did have cold. Then not long after dad phoned, saying he and his partner were going to call up to drop off Corey's gift. Now, they wouldn't comment if the house was a mess, but still, being thought a slob twice in one day is twice too many, so I managed an insane burst of productivity when everything was done. Well, the stuff that could be seen anyway ;)
They left before I went to school, and man, dad's Parkinson's is getting so much worse. His speech is being affected and his face is so stiff and it's so different to how he used to be. Pauline was telling me he can't get any benefits because he's not classed as disabled enough, and that sucks you know? He can't drive, is wiped out half the time, has problems doing buttons and stuff like that, gets frustrated talking and they say he's not entitled to help. Right now he's living off his fireman's pension but that's hardly enough to keep them going. Plus there's the extras, like from April every OAP and disabled person is entitled to free public transport here, but he won't be able to take advantage of that and it just annoys me so much.
But yeah, at least things are tidier now, which is a good start to the things I need to do ready for the birthday weekend. Why did I ask the relatives over? Why!? I need to go to Asda later and buy a cake, plus balloons etc which'll be fun. It means I can pick up more cranberry juice as I've none left and that's just wrong. Also, coming home from school I bought tissues, and they have lotion. They're sturdy and pettable and just lovely. Really they're the Chris of the tissue world and I love them. And now I can use my lovely tissues on my poor red nose, because man, looking like rudolph here.
Also also, I have a drink that
luxshine recommended, and it's so good. Oh while I remember, luxshine drew the cutest ever Nsync picture you should all go and see.. It's so adorable. Where was I? Oh yes, I have a few hours before I have to go out again, and in that time I really want to watch House and Supernatural, and hopefully add some words to the
sparklydarkboys story I'm writing. Or I could read the flist while thinking about my next Chris post. That would work too as I can do that while making tea. Okay, I have a plan! *g*

Yeah, it is unfair :(
My Chris tissues are the best, so soothing on my poor nose. I hope you're feeling better soon yourself. Colds suck.
Thank you! It's going to be busy, but fun I hope.
