Apr. 18th, 2006 12:43 pmI need to say happy belated birthday to
augustuscaesar. Tara, you've been on my flist for what seems like forever and you're never been anything but fantastic. *hugs tight and smooches you*
madame_d and
sola_fiamma have created a new community
slashfic25 where you write 25 stories instead of 100. I've often thought about joining one of those 100 comms but man, 100 is one heck of a big number, so always backed away. This morning I saw the post about the comm, it was early, I was half asleep, I may have put in a claim for Chris. Normally I talk myself out of stuff like this, I always get this mental image of people reading down the claim list and thinking, 'omg look who's claimed *"+"&*% Why did it have to be her?!' But yes, we'll see how it goes.
I've been thinking of what I'll do for Lambs day. I can't believe I'm sitting writing that. People can wrap me around their little fingers and well do they know it. I find it hard to see Lambs, euro era is a little easier but it's not a pairing that jumps out at me. Some pairings just yell we're screwing like bunnies, two minutes from now I'll have him behind this scenery, pants around his ankles as I blow his mind. Other take more work, like serious squinting and magnifying the slash coloured glasses until you actually see where people are coming from. But I've squinted and looked sideways and have an idea I think will work. Of course this means I'll now stare at Word for the next 6 weeks, end up with rubbish and submit a ficlet ten minutes before the deadline is due.
The bootsale went well yesterday. The car was packed with stuff and poor Corey was jammed into a corner, boxes blocking him in at the side. The only problem was the wind, it was blowing a hoolie and keeping stuff on the tables was a real problem. But we made a nice amount of money and got rid of a load of stuff that wasn't needed. The house is actually starting to look less cluttered, not that it'll ever be totally clutter free. We all like stuff so there's always stuff around and really, I'm fine with that. By the time we came home, unpacked unsold stuff into the garage and got home I was ready to soak in the bath and chill out. But my friend and her son turned up and didn't leave until much later, so that plan was scrapped. But I did get hours of gossip with a good friend, so really, it was a positive trade off. Tonight though, that soak is mine!
While we were waiting to set up, because you know we had to get there two hours early to make sure we got a good spot on the field. I read a few remix stories that I'd loaded onto Jordan. So far my favourite is the Flopping the Little Guy remix. Thing is I'm not sure if that's because I like the original so much. I know nothing about SGA so approached those details as more of an AU with original characters and details. Like the way I sat and puzzled for a while about how the heck Chris could turn on a shower without apparently touching it, but then there was naked Chris and Lance and all thoughts of that nature were washed away.
I need to go attend to rl stuff, but before I do. The Sentinel comes out on DVD today! I don't talk about the show much here, but I still have much love for Jim, Blair and their canon but just not stated officially love. TS on DVD! Never did I think this day would come.
Now, laundy, or if I'm honest. Watching the Myth Busters outtakes show that's on.

Date: 2006-04-18 11:51 am (UTC)That Remix SGA crossover is a lot of fun. I'm like you, I haven't seen any SGA, my only knowledge of it is from other people's icons and the *very* rare fics I've read, so it works as setting our boys in an AU which is really well worked out, and that is a cool thing.

Date: 2006-04-18 11:59 am (UTC)And I'm glad the boot sale went well. If you're half blown away by the end of the day, you want to at least make some money from it!

Date: 2006-04-18 12:07 pm (UTC)Exactly! I'd have been pissed if I hadn't made some money after working in those conditions all day *g*

Date: 2006-04-18 12:09 pm (UTC)It is a cool thing. The story worked so well for me and I enjoyed it a lot. I was sorry when it ended.

Date: 2006-04-18 12:11 pm (UTC)I really like boot sales a lot, there's so many books and things other people don't want. I have to be firm with myself, keep on remembering we're de-cluttering our own home. Adding more would be silly *g*
