Aug. 8th, 2006 02:20 pmHappy birthday, JC! You're looking fabulous, have made my flist a very happy place to be today, and you're still part of the best OTP ever! Which is trickc before anyone even thinks about mentioning the J word! ;) But yeah, it's been great reading the flist this morning, very smile making. Now I want to see more pics. The rumours they were all there are taunting me.
rikes said the pics were like a meme that everyone should post. Because Rikes is fabulous,

Those were the ones you wanted, right?
Or was it this one? *g*

Link surfing amuses me at times. I was reading a link this morning and checked out the girl's journal, where I found out that she's a major Orlando Bloom fan. Which great, I never say no to a little Orlando. She linked to a post where there was much debate about Orlando being gay, and Lance was mentioned many times. Funniest comment there was someone saying Lance had always freaked her out because she's never seem him blink. That in turn led to a youtube link of the whipping scene in PotC2, something I was only discussing with
castalie a few days ago. Which in turn led to a link to Davy Jones/Will fic featuring tentacle sex. Tentacles! Which brings it right back to the sparkly boys.
For those that were wondering, we did the walk on Sat. James, Corey and I did the full 8+ miles and the FiL joined us for part. I tell you, nothing shows how totally unfit you are until you're literally staggering along a path, feet burning, muscles screaming as you count distance in blocks so you don't cry about how much is left. Man, I was so glad to reach the end, and I swear, I couldn't move Sat night, Sunday was just as bad. In fact it was really quite pathetic, hauling myself upright, calf muscles protesting the littlest staggering steps. Today's better, at least I'm past the hobbling stage. But, James' made a good amount of money for the charity. Was shown on the ITV news and has been in the local paper. Not bad I think.
I was book buying yesterday. The shop had a three for two offer so I bought a Merry Gentry book, Broken by Kelly Armstrong, and a book by someone new to me. Jim Butcher. I needed a book to make up the third and the little placards next to the Laurell K Hamilton books said if you like her, you'll like him. So, someone new I'm trying. The story is enjoyable, but so far there's no huge 100 page long sex scenes and men with sweeping hair. So really, not like a Hamilton book at all.
ETA: Forgot to say. The DVD Commentary Challenge sounds like a lot of fun. You should all think about going and claiming a story to comment on.

Date: 2006-08-08 01:26 pm (UTC)Actually still can't believe he's younger than I am. It's like everytime I see Colin Farrell I keep thinking they are older than me. Well, Colin is but, only by a couple of weeks. LOL
I bet though he'll have a great time for us. ^_~

Date: 2006-08-08 01:45 pm (UTC)Oh no! I'm surrounded by people who just don't get it! ;)
I keep getting tripped up on the age thing too. I'm just glad that at least Chris and Kevin are older than me. It makes perving on boybands a little easier.... Okay, I lie. I never have a problem perving on them *g*
Colin Farrell. Guh! I just went to see Miami Vice a few days ago and may have a bit of a crush. Which is random, but you know.

Date: 2006-08-12 08:29 am (UTC)Ah yes, Chris is a few years older than me. I remember when I found out he's older than one of the New Kids I was like @__@. Still cracks me up.
I never have a problem perving on them *g* Whenever there is another bunch I'll be Argh! LOL
Colin is a cutie sometimes. ^__~

Date: 2006-08-08 01:56 pm (UTC)Sounds like the walk did well, sorry that you are/were hurting though.
Which Merry book did you get, I think I'm finally caught up on them? Never heard of Jim Butcher, but let me know what you think of his book when you are finished, maybe I'll add him to my list of books to check out. I still haven't gotten the newest Anita book, but I've been informed that I might be getting it for my bday, so we'll see. lol. She's suppose to have a couple more things out this fall. *twirls*
Not even thinking about another challenge. The Bassez day challenge got one entry. one. I'm so disappointed. And that one isn't even mine, because I haven't been able to get anything done because I have people *growls* lurking around me going "what are you doing? what are you typing?" all the freaking time now. I still have a ton of things that are past due. *sobs* And now I find out that two movies that I need reference materials from (because of one of the fic I'm writing quotes them) didn't get ordered by Mom. *rolls eyes*
And now I've rambled enough, I'm going to wander off and try to write again.

Date: 2006-08-08 02:05 pm (UTC)The walk was cool, but man, Raven. I swear I couldn't walk right for days. I felt like I was ancient on Sunday, using walls to prop myself up *g*
I got A Stroke of Midnight. I still don't like the universe as much as the Anita one, but maybe I haven't given it a big enough chance yet. So I'll keep reading. I enjoyed the new Anita a lot, I so hope you get it so we can discuss it better.
The commentary thing isn't a fic challenge. It's selecting a story by someone else and giving it a DVD commentary, sort of like extended feedback. Which has to be cool.
I'm sorry that the Bassez day challenge got so few stories. It's a pairing I just don't get, or I'd have done something.
I'm also sorry home life is sucking for you just now. You so need to save up and come see us next year. No one cares what you're typing. Well, we do, but in a good way.
*smooch* It's good to hear from you. *sends you good writing vibes*

Date: 2006-08-08 02:21 pm (UTC)I went shopping with Mom on Saturday, we hadn't been to the grocery store in about a month, so we were gone ages. I spent most of Sat. night and almost all of Sunday in pain. I can just imagine how badly you were aching and I totally know about walking using the walls, I do that too.
I know I don't enjoy the Merry books as much as the Anita ones. I've also realized that the Merry series doesn't stick with me like the Anita series does. Everytime I read a Merry book, I have to go back and skim the previous book to figure out what is going on. lol.
I am so bad with feedback, you know this. I can't imagine I'd be able to find the words to give a "Dvd commentary" on someone's story. Bad me.
I'm *so* passed ready for him to find himself a part-time job or something. Anything to get him out of the house for a couple days a week.
*blushes* thank you. I've missed being around here and I've missed you lots.
*hugs*

Date: 2006-08-08 02:41 pm (UTC)Man, being in pain sucks. How are you now? Better I hope.
I've also realized that the Merry series doesn't stick with me like the Anita series does.
Yep. In fact the first book of the series I had to do that too. All these men known by colour. It was insane. I do love the world building, but it's not as gripping as Anita's world.
Oh honey. You're not bad at feedback at all. You give me plenty that makes me smile. There's a difference between being sick and unable to give it, and being bad. So no forgetting that.
I hope you're able to get online more often. *mwah*

Date: 2006-08-08 02:01 pm (UTC)I knew the internets couldn't fail us so, I knew it! Linky linky, please, sis?
So The Walk happened and you survived and all? Congrats! Seriously, I always say I need to start being a little more active because each time I do a little sport, feels like I'll die of a heart attack at the tender age of 27, which really sucks *sigh* So I totally sympathise.

Date: 2006-08-08 02:09 pm (UTC)Ha, I had that tabbed to send to you. I was link surfing, came across that scene and squeed very happily.

I hope that works. Youtube links always look weird.
The walk did happen, but it took until today to feel human again. My calf muscles felt like lines of flame on Sunday, a bit better yesterday, and finally I can walk again. It just shows that being active regularly has to be a good thing.

Date: 2006-08-08 02:01 pm (UTC)Seriously, I am a bad JC fan, I had no idea it was his birthday, thank goodness for flists who keep me on top of those news :D
That said, you broke my brain. DavyJones/Will?! I shudder to think about that...

Date: 2006-08-08 02:15 pm (UTC)BOY IN THE BAND
Lance Bass stops by ex-bandmate JC Chasez's 30th birthday party in West Hollywood on Sunday. Bass, who attended with boyfriend Reichen Lemkuh (inset), also caught up with former 'N Sync-ers Justin Timberlake (who arrived with Cameron Diaz) and Chris Kirkpatrick at the bash.
You know, to make up for not knowing it was JC's birthday, you should draw him a chibi too. Maybe one of him and his other half, Chris. So joking btw. It would be fabulous but I know how busy you are.
That said, you broke my brain. DavyJones/Will?! I shudder to think about that...
I was doing research for the tentacles story! I had to read it! Which is my story and I'm sticking to it ;)

Date: 2006-08-08 03:25 pm (UTC)I don't know where I read that the five had been together, but well, at least we know that Justin now knows too.
I'm planning the chibis, don't worry ;) Actually, I'm torn between doing pairing chibis or chibis with the It's gonna be me video outfits -the ones of the dolls- once I finish the BSB Just Want You to Know set... I take my time, but I do finish the sets!
And about the tentacle slash? I have to say nothing surprises me after you introduced me to cramp. If I can take that pairing, nothing surprises me. (I'll assume is for the

Date: 2006-08-08 04:08 pm (UTC)A chowie! Dude, you're killing me with happiness here! I wish I knew how to get more choey fics. I love the pairing too and there's just not enough of it around.
I haven't seen your Justin yet. I'm going to check your journal as soon as I post this.
Nope, I haven't posted the last two. I have inanimate objects and wings written, but poor Interlock is slammed work wise, so I've told her to hold off on beta until she has time. Which allows me time to play with tentacles, then mpreg ;)
no subject
Date: 2006-08-08 05:50 pm (UTC)Choey fics are a dying breed it seems. Now every time I do a search, the ones that come up are mine... not that I mind writting choey, but I'm thinking I'll do a challenge for my birthday. That would be a nice gift :P (Although three months might be short notice...)
I understand the work thing of your beta. Happened with Story of Us, which is why I haven't updated. I've written up to part 17, but Juli has too much work I think, so no updates yet.
mpreg is one of my squicks, but I'll admit I'm curious to see how you work it out.

Thank you! You know, I keep thinking how last year I was struggling to walk at all, and now this. I've still got a huge distance to go, but things like this help so much. Thanks for your constant support, it helps always.
