I really need to get over the idea that the stories for [livejournal.com profile] slashfic25 have to be written specifically for that comm. It just feels like cheating somehow, using a story for another challenge then slotting it in. It isn't, I know this. It's just the irrational way my mind is working.

I'm actually surprised that my mind is working at all. I was up way earlier than I had to this morning, and went to bed late, now I'm flagging and want a nap. Sadly that's not happening any time soon. James however is asleep on the couch, and has been for the last 3 hours. I may throw something at him soon.

But, good things. The plumber came today and tomorrow he's coming back to fix the pipes in the kitchen. Which means I can use my dishwasher again. It's been months!

It was Corey's first rugby match yesterday. After an early start and a sock crisis, how his long sock got mixed up with the laundry in the washer I don't know, we set off to meet all the other rugby people at the club, the convoyed down to Hartlepool. I have to admit, I had a glow of pride when he came out of the changing rooms with his uniform on, and kept that glow despite hearing that one boy had smashed his collar bone the week before. Corey didn't actually touch the ball, but the coach was amazing, really supportive about the fact he'd stepped up to play despite only having one training session under his belt.

I have to admit, I had no clue what was going on rule wise. Though it did help when I realised they weren't actually playing goal post to goal post, but playing the width of the pitch. I guess an actual pitch is too big for the mini teams.

Okay, a rec before I go. I was privileged to watch as KC wrote Lords of the Jungle. It's for the Chris challenge and I loved it. A lot. You should go read and then feedback, tell KC what a beautiful story it is. Full of hope and friendship and really, just go read.

ETA: I keep forgetting to thank [livejournal.com profile] digital_diva and [livejournal.com profile] rikes for the postcards. They're both lovely. Thank you, ladies. *smooch* Rikes, James saw the mooses with their noses together (is that the plural for moose? It looks weird) anyway, he asked if it was JC and Chris kissing. I gave him an A for getting into the slashy spirit, but obviously the big moose with big old moose hooves and curly hair was Justin.
