Oct. 24th, 2006 01:39 pmJames went back to work today. At the risk of sounding the biggest bitch ever. It's about bloody time! Being together 24/7 for a month was just too long, and has shown we need time apart at times. To celebrate I'm going to watch some of the downloaded shows on Silver without the inevitable 'I can't hear the tv. *turns it up* Now I can't hear my show *turns up Silver* Why don't you use headphones? Because I don't like them, why can't you just read for half an hour, anything, just let me watch my show!' I can also watch what I like on tv, won't have to listen to a million, I've got a broken hand you know? and do a thousand little things that take me away from what I should/want to be doing.
To be fair, he really was sick over the weekend. A load of time was spent phoning NHS direct and our doctors. He has a nasty stomach bug, but also pain in his arm and chest which was worrying, but it seems it was the bug attacking his muscles. Not that the MiL was convinced about that, phoning at all times saying he should go to casualty. Which comes of love and concern after her own heart problems, but still, annoying.
While he was sick I watched my first episode of CSI. It was late, I was rubbing his back, and it was on tv. The show's never interested me before, but dude. I loved it. I've watched any eps I can since then, in fact I have a date at 11 each night. I go to bed, cuddle under the duvet and watch CSI, frequently being grossed out by what's on screen. I have no idea who most of the people are yet, but I'm enjoying finding out.
On the subject of tv shows. I watched Torchwood, and oh man. So much love. Seriously. Apart from Captain Jack. CAPTAIN JACK! I really liked the new characters and the way the show's set up. So very cool, and you know Jack kept the hand for his own purposes ;)
Yesterday we went shopping for Halloween costumes. Paul, ex A1 boybander, is playing at Kay's club with his new band. ( Kay's roomie and best friend is also sleeping with him now, just to keep up to date with this whole story ) So, there's going to be a halloween themed party, his band, apple bobbing, the lot. Therefore, we needed costumes. Corey and James bought theirs, sadly, I'd probably fit one leg into shop bought costumes so we got some fantastic black spider embroided material and the MiL is making me a cape. I'm going to be a witch. I have a broom, and cobwebs to add to my costume and am contemplating dying my hair a temporary green. I'm just a little worried it'll stay that colour, which wouldn't be good at all. But yeah, it should be a good night.
I've just seen someone mention SeSa. This makes me happy because I so love SeSa time. Now it's just a case of waiting and hoping it's run again. Writing wise I want to do something for
llumi's halloween challenge, and finish the wtf 5 prompt, but after that, I'm clear. I do owe a birthday story, but I need time for that, so sadly it'll probably be pushed back.
Oh my squee! My Heroes download is finally finished!

Date: 2006-10-24 01:49 pm (UTC)The second most important thing is that Greg is totally in love with Grissom.
I am glad that you have finally been lured into the wonderful world of CSI :)

Date: 2006-10-25 08:29 am (UTC)I can totally get behind Greg loving Grissom. I like Greg :)
Now, if only Living wasn't showing 1938617892 seasons at once. I'm so confused!

Date: 2006-10-25 08:36 am (UTC)Greg is great :)
As far as I can tell with Living, they're currently showing Season 6 on Friday evenings (repeated at some point on the weekend) and season 5 the rest of the time. They will go back to the beginning again soon. Also, Five US has just started showing it from the beginning again.

Date: 2006-10-24 02:00 pm (UTC)Torchwood finally premiered? Feels like forever that we've heard about that show, uh? I'll have to add it to my To Download list but not right now... maybe during a hiatus or something.
And I'm so jealous that you get to watc Heroes now! I'm still at work and have to wait and wait and wait. MewantstowatchedHeroes dammit!

Date: 2006-10-25 08:34 am (UTC)Yep, Torchwood premiered on Sunday, and dude, sis. So good! I won't spoil, but he mentions he's been pregnant, there's gay kisses, lesbian kisses, nudity, all in the first two eps. It's going to be so much fun.
I didn't actually get to see Heroes last night. I'd just started it up when the best friend came over, and stayed until late. I should have expected it, with the schools being off and all, but still. Just as it was starting, I was nooooo!!!! I've seen it now though, and my love is sky high.
Love the icon btw. Peter looks so damaged, just perfect.

Date: 2006-10-24 04:30 pm (UTC)Once I get the characters straight in my head I'll totally ask you for recs. Right now the only one I know is Greg, the rest are just faces. Not helped by the fact the channel I'm watching on seems to be showing two different seasons.

I loved nine and ten, but saying that, I was only a casual fan of the old series, watching some of the doctors when I was a kid. I imagine if you're a committed fan of the old series it may be difficult to warm to the new.
Torchwood is fantastic, but saying that, different to DW. Both James and Corey love DW but neither were really taken with Torchwood, Corey because for him, it's the Doctor he loves, James because, well, I'm not sure why. It just didn't hit him the same way.
