My google skills have failed me.

Does anyone know if you have to wear shoes while visiting a Hindu temple?

I know, I got taken to the big one in North London for Diwali. You need to take your shoes off and you need to wear modest clothes (no cleavage, skirts must be below knee length), hair is fine uncovered.

The temple will almost certainly have pigeon holes where you can leave your shoes.

You have to take your shoes off before going in. There'll be a place to do so. (My uncle's a Hari Krsna!)
