Dec. 22nd, 2006 08:49 amMy plan to go shopping last night was a failure, because it seemed many other people had the same bright idea. The place was packed, trolley jams at the end of aisles, waiting constantly to get at the shelves, but at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been. We did have to wait to check out, but compared to other years when we've ended up queuing for half an hour, well, it wasn't that bad.
Of course I then had to come back and fight with the freezers to get everything in. Having huge ass turkey and pork joints in there takes up a heck of a lot of space. And the meringue ice-cream dome fills half a shelf on its own.
Today we're hitting the shops for the very last gifts. I think we have 2 we need to get, so that's not that bad. Then after that, we're done, and the weekend should be stress free.
Okay, I have modly duties to do, then we're off to battle the crowds.
