I'm writing up a personal review, but have the

Stories that made it to my site.

A Man For All Seasons
Spot
Easy Money
A Lifetime of Firsts
Wilt

Plus the Kissing Challenge story and the wtf stuff that still need to go up. You can find them under the 'my stuff' tag on my journal.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?

About what I predicted. It always feels like I've written more than I have on my site, but that's because I write a lot of ficlets, for birthdays, fic_requests etc, and they go nowhere apart from my LJ.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2006?

I wrote Lambs! Willingly. Without it being a challenge. When I was writing Spot, it just became a Lambs story, and I told it. No! I don't write Lambs, get out of my head Justin! But Spot sat on my desk, snorted fire into the air and told me it most certainly was a lambs story, so get it written down already *g*

And there's the Lamp thing, but come on! Everyone needs to write a lamp story, or two, or three

I had a bash at Supernatural too. But while I enjoyed it, the connection wasn't really there you know? They weren't my boys.

What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?

I really like how my SeSa turned out, but as I can't talk about that, I'll say, Spot. I remember when I was writing it, I was panicking at Interlock that it was too short, too simple, too everything. Spot was seconds away from being deleted many times. But he stayed, and I'm glad he did. I can get very bogged down in my stories at times, too angsty, too flowery, Spot shows that I'm capable of getting away from that.

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.)

I guess the whole wtf thing could be seen as a risk. I mean, some of the prompts are insane! Yet I'm having a blast writing them, and have plotted out quite a few more already. It's freeing knowing that you can write tentacles, and mpreg and high school fic etc, without worrying that people will think you're insane, because the prompt said I had to do it! At this point I'll say, no bringing up of Lamp! He's special ;) To be honest, I'm still amazed anyone reads those, never mind likes them.

Easy Money is another. It has themes that I worried about exploring, and I'm still not sure if I managed to get across what I wanted without being very clichéd and heavy handed.

Oh, and I sort of upset people in a story for [livejournal.com profile] sparklydarkboys. Which I never intended to do. I mean, Chris is still alive, sort of....

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?

I do.

First, I'm going to finish the wtf things. Like I said, I have quite a few more plotted and ready to be written. It's going to be a fun ride.
I own Josh a birthday story. I usually ficlet for people, but I promised him something longer. He wants an adventure story, and I've never tried that before. We'll see how it goes.
I have a certain AU that needs to be finished.
Other than that, I really want to write something long. For the last few years I'd stalled around the 8-10 thousand word mark. SeSa showed I can get past that, but I'm talking long long here. I want something plotty that I can get my teeth into. I have no idea if I actually have the ability to do that, because one of my failings is getting something written and wanting it out there now, but I want to try.
I should really start the Kevin/Chris epic I keep threatening *g*

From my past year of writing, what was...
My Best Story

Gah. I hate this. I'd say my SeSa, but as that's not being fair. I still like Easy Money.

Story Most Underappreciated by the Universe

The ficlet I wrote for Luxshine's birthday. It was utter crack with dancing instruments and a Kevin/Chris/Joey thing going on. Actually, it's not surprising it wasn't that well liked *g*

Wilt too. It was my entry for the 1000 words challenge, and hitting those 1000 words was difficult.

Most fun

Any of the crack stories. While the story itself is actually serious, you have to laugh when you're sitting writing about Lance the bobble head being pushed by Joey the marionette.

Most disappointing

I wrote Doing the Best You Can Do for JuC day. It never hit my site because it's lacking in something. I just don't know what.

Most sexy

Ahahahahaha.

Are you kidding? A bowl of cat food is more sexy than anything I could write.

Story With a Single Sexy Moment

Again, I can't write sex to save my life. But, I do like the kisses I did for KC's kissing challenge. You can have them as a single moment.

Hardest to Write

It's a tie between Easy Money and my SeSa. Easy Money was saved by having people around me who were willing to look over horribly unfinished drafts and bounce ideas with me. I got bogged down so many times, but they pulled me free and pushed me in the right direction.

Most Unintentionally Telling

Easy Money. It was a difficult story to write in many ways.

That's it. Aren't you glad you read that?

Also, as I'm a big old copy cat, feel free to try and guess my SeSa story. I know there's not much time left before the reveal, but I'm interested if anyone has any suspicions.
