Dec. 31st, 2006 01:26 pmI was looking for one of those end of year memes, but decided to go it alone. I'm a rebel like that ;)
So, 2006 has been an interesting one, full of ups and downs. I'm not going to go back and look at individual posts from the last year,
Personal -- I wrote a long thing about this then deleted it, but really, what it comes down to is I pretty much hit rock bottom a few years ago, and in the last year have still been clawing myself up. It's not easy and I've still got a huge amount of weight to lose, but in the last year I've gone bowling and actually played, did a sponsored walk, stood and watched my son play rugby for hours, read books in the bath, went to the cinema almost every weekend. They're small things, but believe me, to me they mean everything.
Friends -- The best friend and I are still tight, 25 years plus now, which is a total wow moment. Also makes me feel old, but whatever *g* I've also got some amazing friends on here. I won't list names, just know that there's people on LJ that are way beyond being just online friends. They're friends, it's that simple.
To everyone of you. Thank you. You're all fabulous in so many way. *blows kisses and sends love*
Fandom -- I still have fingers in The Sentinel and Mutant X fandom, but to me, fandom remains sparkly. I've fallen in love with new shows. CSI, Heroes, and kept the love for others, Supernatural, TS, MX, but pop is my home. I still love Backstreet, I love each member of Nsync. I still think Chris is the most beautiful man in the world!
Fannish wise I'm at a good place. I'm surrounded by people that interest and amuse me, though dude, I'm still shocked at how many people read my posts of family life, random pic spam and crack. I think I'm getting better at that writing thing, to which I owe my own beta team alpha so much. ( which is interlock, nopseud, msktrnanny, and the newest member of the team, vaudevilles )
Last year was full of ups and downs. My dad's Parkinson's got worse, my mam's drinking was still a shadow on all our lives, we still struggled with debt, but on the plus side, I became an auntie again. I lost more weight, I attended fannish gatherings ( sadly not as often as I wanted, I miss you guys ) and also had my own sparkly gathering at my house. Which man, as I'm not the most confident person around, scared me so much beforehand. But it went fine, and I had the bonus of
msktrnanny's company again the next week, where poor KC was subjected to days in my boring hometown *g*
Next year there's the meet up at the Supernatural con. Where I'll see Mouse! Also, Camp Sparkle! I'm looking forward to that so much.
It's been one heck of a year, here's to the next one. Sparkle on my fabulous flist!
