Now that the authors have been revealed, I can thank
sjrules for writing my story. Thank you so much, SJ!
I can also reveal that I wrote Always Known. A trickyfish future, sort of reunion story. Which amuses me, because for the longest time I just couldn't get my head around writing trickyfish and in the last year my two main stories ended up that pairing.
Before I go on, I want to thank
ephemera_pop,
nopseud and
vaudevilles for their beta help. This story got long, and I hit brick walls many times with it. All three of them listened and suggested as I threw words at them, and the story is much better as a result. Just a small addition here. It was the first time Vaudevilles had beta read popslash, and she was a little worried. But believe me, if she offers to beta for you, take her up on it. She's good. Also, thanks go to
msktrnanny who always steps in to get those Briticisms, a story wouldn't be the same without her funny comments. I mean, dude, I didn't know they wouldn't have fairy lights! *g*
Anyway. I wrote for
rainnesue who said she liked romantic, emotional, meaningful stuff. Plus happy endings. Also, that smut is not required but appreciated.
Then I sat and tried to think how romance could be applied to Chris and Lance. While thinking I did some detective work. Sadly, her journal was flocked, but I found comments at
sesa_discuss that said she loved last years story. Which I reread, and it was a lovely story. At this point I flailed, a lot.
It was then I got the idea of making it future fic, and that Lance and Reichen had to split. This was before they mentioned having problems in reality, and I have to admit. I felt guilty sitting plotting splitting them up just then. I got over it though.
I started throwing out words then, Chris talking to Lance on his cell, the scene with Joey. They came really easily, as did the next scenes at the compound. Mostly because I love writing group stuff. Nsync is all five and I love them all, it doesn't matter if they're officially together or not. So I enjoy writing them together. Maybe a little too much for some characters, as a couple of beta comments were along the line of 'you're such a trickc whore' *g* This amused me, but worried me too, because it was a trickyfish story and I didn't want hints that Chris was off screwing JC in the background. But following a suggestion, I just left it at a Chris who loves his friends and has no problem perving on them a little, because come on. Wouldn't you?
The actual trickyfish plotline was a little trickier. 'Beaux wanted meaningful conversations and romance, but all I could think was if Lance started dating Chris he'd be circling back to where he was before. Lance is obviously happy being out, so would he even date an in the closet guy? Or would Chris come out. My initial thought were no and no. Which wasn't helpful at all.
I decided to add some romantic history between them which would make Lance giving up so much a little more plausible. Nothing too major, just enough to suggest the attraction had been there for a while. So it wasn't a sudden thing from 'I'm out and happy. Wow, Chris is hot! Must date him and screw being out' More a love and attraction between them both that had been pushed way back because of circumstances.
Still, I was left with the problem of an ending where one was out, one was in. Plus, needing a big romantic gesture. I thought along the lines of a real coming out for Chris, but then thought about all the stuff he babbles on about in interviews. I mean, he's said he was dating Lance before, people are used to him saying weird things. But of course in this case, he was telling the whole truth.
I'll stop before I bore everyone to tears, but yeah. That's a part of my story writing process. There was so much more, but I'll spare you, especially the agonies of the sex scene. Lets just say any characters in my stories will be lucky if they're allowed to hold hands from now on.
Quite a few people guessed it was me writing this. In fact, Jacie posted that she'd read two sentences and knew it was my story, and finally I can ask. How the heck did you know? Do I need to hide my spellings next year?
Again this SeSa has been wonderful. It's thing of joy in the pop fandom and
apetslife and
eponymous are wonderful for running it so well. I got lovely feedback ( and you people that suggested a JC/Justin/Cameron thing happening in the background. You've all got dirty minds, and I love you for it! ), read a load of amazing stories, all in all, I had a blast!

You do Trickyfish so well.
That means so much, really. Thank you.
As for the Justin/JC/Cam thing. I never meant it to be there, but it slipped in. I blame JC myself ;)

Date: 2007-01-02 03:35 pm (UTC)I love this story so very much, not just for the Trickyfish but for all the Nsync interactions which were absolutely awesome. Puppy piles and drunken orgies, wheeee!! But also all the talking and bickering and just being together. So much love!
PS I guessed that something had happened between them when Justin choked and got bright red :-)

Date: 2007-01-02 05:17 pm (UTC)I'm so glad you liked the story. It's one I really like myself, and if it weren't for time it would have stretched much longer. I was enjoying seeing Lance and Chris' relationship evolve, and the group interaction of course.
PS I guessed that something had happened between them when Justin choked and got bright red :-)
Ahahahaha. Yeah, I didn't have any intention of adding that in, it just happened. It's all JC's fault, him with his super strength drinks *g*

Date: 2007-01-02 09:53 pm (UTC)I think your agony just means you need practice writing sex. So I have my whip handy and will 'suggest' that you should write one sex scene a week as punishment until you feel easier about it. This of course has absolutely no benefit for me whatsoever.
no subject
Date: 2007-01-02 10:44 pm (UTC)Oh man. Bring out the big guns with the whip! *g*
In a 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger*' kind of way, I should do that. Because I'd rather write a full story than sex scenes.
* I suspect that quote wasn't meant to be applied to writing gay sex scenes, but really, it fits.

Date: 2007-01-03 03:21 am (UTC)Right... me and my whip are now in charge... and given your hunt for the strap on story I think that should be your first challenge. 500 words. I'll beta anything.
Man, if this whip thing works I am going to take over the world - or at least read lots of sex, which is much less work and far more fun!

Date: 2007-01-03 12:10 pm (UTC)Man, you know how to butter me up *g*
It's a deal. If you'll beta it, I'll send it.
