Jan. 8th, 2007 03:04 pmIt's been a mixed up few days. Our tv stopped working last week. Just switched itself off and wouldn't go back on. We'd bought it off the SiL and it was a few years old and well out of guarantee, but James is always of the opinion that shy bairnes get nowt so, as it was Asda's own brand, he took it back to the shop hoping they'd agree to a repair. Obviously his name wasn't listed as owner anywhere, but they found a barcode on the back that showed it was retailing for £69.99. Which they then offered as part payment for a new tv. As Asda was holding a promotion we now have a brand new 28 inch tv for the pricely sum of £30.
Yesterday we went shopping to spend the vouchers I got for Christmas. HMV were selling House season one for £14.99 so I snapped that up. Sadly nothing else caught my eye, but we're going to Metro Centre on Friday so will probably find something then.
Lets see, what else? We've been to see Night at the Museum and Employee of the Month. Neither of which were that impressive. I actually fell asleep watching Night at the Museum but that was more I wasn't very well and really should have stayed home instead of going out.
We've booked the rugby club for Corey's birthday party, which fills me with horror thinking about it. I vowed to never have a self hosted party again, but it comes down to, we can hire the club for free and they supply a bouncy castle, kitchen equipment etc. So, a self hosted party it is.
Due to various unpleasant events there's another family meeting in the pipelines. Not that it'll help, but what can you do? There's a thousand things I could rant about here, but really, the main one comes down to, when you've spent years picking up the pieces and holding things together, then you can make your mouth go about things. If all you do is be there when the drink is flowing and don't see the aftermath. Just shut the fuck up.
To end on the positive. I got feedback for my SeSa story today. I never get feedback for my sesas after the reveal. Especially multiple feedbacks, one of which went into detail. I was blown away reading it.
Talking of which. My in box awaits. That is if I can get past all of James' mails. He's been asked to do a lovely job today. Usually he sorts out loans for the bank, today he has to call people who've been overpaid by the insurers and ask for the money back. I don't think people are amused.
