Feb. 21st, 2007 11:27 amCorey's on half term this week, so I've been having very lovely lie ins. Not as long as his though, he's totally training to be a teenager already. Other than that, things have been running along the same old same old. Kay came to use my computer yesterday so I got stuck into the ironing that was about to rampage along the hall. Many hours later I had 2/3 done and had watched a load of saved shows on the Sky Plus. I know, exciting yes, I don't know how you all stand it.
I got my Remix assignment this morning, and right now I'm happy. Still, those oh so fortunate people that actually make my stuff look okay will no doubt be getting the panicked mails soon. Today though I'm going to poke at my 1000 word story and hopefully get the second draft done. You know, for a 1000 words the story is taking a lot of time.
That's it for my thrilling life update. Have some lists.

I've told this one before, but Corey was in the special care for a few weeks when he was born. On a ventilator for a while, then from the high dependency then cool room. I was pretty sick too, I had to wear these slippers. They were novelty ones, huge fluffy things but my feet were swollen so badly it's all that would fit. Anyway, it had been a tough month, then we got to take him home. Walking out of the unit with him was a moment I'll never forget.
When Corey was in reception class of infants he was cast as a sheep in the nativity play. Seeing him walk on stage wearing black tights, a woolly tabard thing and a little black nose was wonderful.
James and I went to the same college. I always remember once we'd agreed to meet in town and I got there first. I was waiting for him and saw him walking down the street, and was suddenly hit by the fact that I loved him. That was quite the shock.
Sort of related. I'm older than James and he was kept back a year at school due to losing his leg. That meant when we first started dating I was in the second year of college and he was still at school. One of our first dates was to his school play. I was sitting in the school hall, next to his parents and sister, and he walked on stage with this blow up parrot on his shoulder and dressed as a pirate. I just thought, what the heck am I doing?
Seeing Corey go to scout camp for the first time. He was in full uniform, huge pack on his back, and it just showed how grown up he was.
clear_my_eyes asked for my
Savage Garden: To the Moon and Back. I love Savage Garden a lot and it's difficult to pick a favourite, but this one just shades it.
Linkin Park: Numb. Linkin Park are actually my favourite group musically. Like above, it's hard to pick a stand out number one.
A-Ha: Take on Me. When I was a young teen A-Ha were my life. Mags, hmmmmm.
Nsync: The Game is Over. The plinks, the robotic voice, the fact I hear the song and think about them holding hands. The song is love!
Feeder: Yesterday Went Too Soon. What can I say about Feeder? They're great.

(1) OMG! A Hardy Boys movie!
(2) Wait! What!? None of those are good enough to play Joe.
(3) Please tell me Ben Stiller isn't going to be Joe Hardy!
(4) Must Hit Google Now!
(5) NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
(1) I'd love to see how the pyramids where actually made.
(2) I'd love to experience the atmosphere of VE day.
(3) Also, the day when Neil Armstrong took the first step onto the moon. That was such a huge thing.
(4) I'd go to my parents wedding, because I'd love to see them happy together.
(5) Totally shallow, but I want to go to an Nsync concert.
Okay, this was difficult as I'm of the opinion that anyone can be slashed with Chris. Just by standing next to someone he makes them slashable. However, I shall try.
(1) Stephen Segal. I think he's the most boring annoying person ever. With his stupid pulled back hair and beady eyes. Thing is, they'd probably enjoy talking together and they'd be practicing moves and joking and...this is wrong!
(2) Prince William. Because royalty annoys me and he reminds me of his dad and the whole Diana thing which has lasted forever now and he shoots things and I don't like that. At the same time though, he is a strapping lad and I hate my brain so much.
(3) Man, this is difficult. Ha, I have one! Reichen or Jesse. What do you know? I do have lines I won't cross.
(4) Lou Pearlman. Not unless it's a fic where Chris is being blackmailed and will do anything to make sure the group survives and there's blow jobs and angst and secrets that he won't share. Not that I'd read that!
(5) Okay, I'm stuck. I suck. Wait. I have one. James Bond. Which would be weird character/rp cross and I know in the right hands it could be made to work, but I hate James Bond. I think he's the most chauvanistic, slimy, greasy, annoying, skin crawling character ever. I can't even begin to think of slashing him with Chris. Just, no. A million times no.

(1) Related to above and cheating too. The Hardy Boys Mysteries and Case Files remain some of my favourite books. Poor Iola...sniff.
(2) Dream Boy: Jim Grimsley. This book ripped out my heart and stomped on it.
(3) The Laughing Corpse: Anita K Hamilton. In fact, I love to like the whole of this series. The first half is major love, by the end that's tailed to like for the universe and a 'if I read one more bloody sex scene I'll scream' reaction.
(4) Bitten: Kelly Armstrong. Another book that flows into a series. I like this one because the universe is so fascinating. The pack mentality of the werewolves, the other supernatural beings referred to then introduced fully in other books. So very cool. Though they killed off a character I liked in this part.
(5) Storm Front: Jim Butcher. Another Supernatural series, but I like what I like.
How can anyone not love Joey? He's wonderful!
(1) He has the best, widest and happiest smile in the world.
(2) He's solid and handsome with arms to kill for.
(3) He loves his family so much, and his friends too. I can't imagine Joey's love ever running out.
(4) He doesn't take him self seriously, but at the same time has a huge drive to achieve what he desires.
(5) It looks like he gives the best hugs ever. Full bodied and he'll haul around everyone he loves because he's Joey and that's what he does.

Date: 2007-02-21 02:38 pm (UTC)There's always a worry that movies won't do justice to books. I have very clear images in my head of Frank and Joe Hardy, and neither of those mental images fit Tom Cruise or Ben Stiller. Plus, it seems the movie is going to be more comedy based and that makes me sad. HB was always about mystery and friendship, comedy didn't really feature at all.
It's great to see you again btw :)

Date: 2007-02-21 03:01 pm (UTC)Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller are too old! In my head, Frank and Joe will always be teenage boys, or in their early twenties, like the brothers in Supernatural. I think they'd fit the bill rather nicely. Who would YOU cast as the Hardy Boys?
Thanks, I've been more opinionated lately. :P

Joey is love! Seriously. I don't understand anyone that doesn't like him. He's totally the friendliest, happiest, most wonderful person.
Yet I don't have a happy solo Joey icon. This is wrong.

Date: 2007-02-21 06:25 pm (UTC)I had huge problems with that list because to me Chris makes anything slashable. I had to think of people that annoyed me, and would therefore be ruled out of any stories I could read or write. Steven Seagal was top of that list. I swear, there's this advert at the cinema and it's played everytime I'm there. One time. One. I want him to stay on that golf cart and be blown to bits. Anyway, yes. He irritates me, and so does most of the royal family. Why I picked William I don't know. Probably because the thought of Charles and Chris is something I don't ever want to consider. So, that's my flimsy reason *g*
And sure you can have that list request. I still have more to go. Plus, it's an interesting one.
