I finished Jenny's MX birthday story yesterday. I was enjoying writing it, the words were flowing, not like the times when each word takes an effort to get on the page. Then J came to visit.

She's my best friend and I love to see her, but her timing sucked *g* She brought her son and another friend and they came in just as I reached the explicit sex scene in my story. I had a moment of panic where I minimised the story and all the other pages I had up. Then I hoped she wouldn't ask to use the computer.

The problem is they're total mundanes, neither of them understand the fan thing, and that's not touching the slash aspect. M asked the usual questions, 'Do you actually watch all those videos?'Was astounded at my 'shrine' to Victor that I have round my computer ( her words) and asked if James didn't mind.

And is it so hysterically funny that I go to Trek cons? You could see the words 'geek' forming on her lips *g*

I forget that some people aren't fans, it's such a huge part of my life that I couldn't imagine *not* being a fan.

I know what you mean about forgetting that some people aren't fans. I mean, our CL is so full of fannish talks, we're so used to speak to other fans that I forget as well sometimes, and when I'm facing someone who doesn't understand a thing about the fan world, someone who's not even the slightest interested in it, well, it's always making me stop for a moment, and I go "Wow!" lol
