Apr. 16th, 2007 01:00 pmYesterday was such a good day.
The minis at rugby were saved. Though somehow James has become social secretary for the club and I'm redesigning the website. Or more truthfully, James volunteered to redesign it. Though as he knows no html at all the job was immediately passed along to me. Not that I'm any expert at web design, my site is basic to say the least, but it has to be better than the site they have now. It's horrible and the fixture list opens in a pdf which always crashes my browser.
The trip to Whitby was just gorgeous, and I caught crabs *g* We bought a hand line and a tub of squid. They had eyes and legs and just...ewww. Then stood along the river with all the other crab catchers, throwing in the line and pulling out crabs. We ended with a bucketful, one of which was huge and had fun watching them before dropping them back in when we left.
There was also plodging in the sea with C, exploring rocks and eating chips on a sunny bench, a visit to Justin's chocolate shop and a look around the tiny market. Which amused me because I'd been telling
vaudevilles about the AU I'd create in Whitby and I was expecting to see JC behind his stall and Joey in the shop.
The journey back was good, a setting sun and a visit to a pub right on the sand for icy cokes and digging holes. Before dropping off the in laws and coming home, sun warm and sleepy.
Today Corey went back to school after his Easter break. I tell you, after two weeks of sleeping late the alarm was a nasty shock this morning. But I have coffee and also glee, because I've just posted the prompts over at
sparklyglee 144 happyfic prompts, be still my heart!
Stories have to be 1000 words and you have until the end of June to write them, which is easily doable, and you'll be making someone very happy by selecting a prompt and writing it. There's so much to chose from too. Kidfic to kink. Way-out AUs to day to day living. Lots of sex and kisses and groping and just plain happiness. You know you want to see the sparkly boys on Americas Next Top Model, or as an emo band. Or Lance going to space. or Kevin seducing Chris. *crosses fingers* There's so much goodness over there. Go see.

Date: 2007-04-16 12:05 pm (UTC)(I love Justin's - the shop, that is - have you ever had a chat with Justin himself? He's exactly the sort of person who ought to be running an old fashioned hand-made-chocolates shop :D)
*mwah* I'm glad you had a good day.

Date: 2007-04-16 12:18 pm (UTC)Justin of course would be running Justin's, maybe a relative of the owner, he'd wear his apron as he works out front, selling chocolates that he carefully drops into the striped bags as he charms the tourists. He'd make a killing selling canon balls, smiling to distract about how expensive they are. Joey would be in back, singing as he creates tiny delicate chocolates stuffed with cream and ribbing J about his selling techniques. JC would have one of the stalls in the small market across the street, maybe the trinket one and he'd spend lunchtime with Justin, sitting in the sunlight next to his stall eating the icecreams that Justin brings with him. Lance could own one of the fish shops and he'd always smell good because he's paranoid about smelling of fish, and Chris could be a fisherman, sailing off to sea, hanging off his boat and waving as it chugs along the river to the port. Then he could meet Lance at dawn and he'd keep back the best fish for him and joke about Lance's name yet again as Lance rolls his eyes and catches the fish thrown his way.
Of course it gets weird when I think of the real chocolate Justin with Justin T in his shop.
I've never seen Justin to talk to. It's always a young girl in there when I go, but she's always willing to chat about the chocolate making process.
It was a gorgeous day. *smooch*

Date: 2007-04-16 01:41 pm (UTC)The crab fishing really was fun. I'm not really keen on actual fishing because of the hooks but the crabs cling onto the lumps of squid and aren't harmed in any way.
The Whitby AU is so solid in my head. I just wish I had the time to actually write down all the fics that are lodged up there.
Yep, got it and replied :)

Date: 2007-04-17 11:49 am (UTC)I'd like a Brian/JC holiday fic - you think someone will write one?
I love those two together but there is little in the way of fic for them as a couple. Unless you know of any????
