Way to go Sunderland!
May. 6th, 2007 07:49 pmI finally got to see Alpha Dog yesterday, and I liked. A lot.
Not that I'm going to say much. I'd gone into the movie unspoiled, which was good because otherwise some of the impact of the story would have been lost. Justin is a much better actor that I was suspecting. I mainly forgot he was Justin Timberlake except for the first squeeing moment. It's Justin! Justin is talking about sucking cock. My life is complete! There was a moment when he smiled when he first went home, and it was such a Justin smile that he dropped out of character for me there, and I also enjoyed spot the real Justin tattoos.
I wasn't expecting the kid to be killed at all. That actually shut up the stupid idiots at the back who'd been laughing all through the film. Seeing the grave fill with blood was such a bleak moment, and I still think it wasn't fair that Frankie got life. I know he deserved life, he was there at the killing and did the kidnapping, but he made him happy! They were friends.
So yes, I enjoyed the film.
We also saw Blades of Glory again yesterday, which remains made of awesome, and Spiderman 3 on Friday night. We had to go for a late show for that one and didn't leave the cinema until way after 1am. It's a good thing the movie was worth it.
We've been to nanna's today, and the family was there. My brother, dad, uncle, niece, just so many people. Dad was kind of overwhelmed. His speech is so bad and he actually lost the ability to talk at one point, and I know I keep saying it, but Parkinson's sucks.
We've also been to the hospital because James wasn't feeling that good. They thought he'd broken his thumb at one point, on his good hand. But thankfully he hasn't, just dislocated it and it then went back in. Still, he's aching and man, do we know it. Which reminds me, as I amused people in my last post. For anyone new, James has an artificial leg, which is the one that snapped. So I wasn't some callous bitch who didn't care he'd broken his leg *g* He's wearing a stripped down leg right now, no 'skin' just a metal rod then a foot, which looks kind of weird. While waiting for x-rays at the hospital we learned Sunderland had won the league, which was an awesome moment. All the patients cheering for the team.
I think that's it. Remix has been sent for final checking, I'm about to have a lovely roast dinner, bath after that then I can catch up on the flist and mail, with an added bonus of a bank holiday tomorrow which means a sleep in. That has to be a yay.
Oh, also a yay. My sister, who's spent half of her life mocking my boyband love, has had 'What goes around, comes around' tattooed on her arm. I know it's a phrase, but man, being able to tease her about having Justin lyrics on her arm is priceless.
