The Dragon challenge authors have been revealed, so I guess I can say that I wrote Seven Plus One Equals None.

It's a crack fic, simple as. I had no ideas for the challenge at all, except for this vague thought of Kevin as Snow White, because it fits. He's dark haired, fair of face ( he is, shut up! ) and of course the dwarves could be sparkly cast. At this point I emailed ephemera and told her, I'm having Snow White thoughts, talk me out of them. She didn't. In fact what she did was bring it up when I was down at nopseud's for a mini sparkly meet up. Now these are the people who birthed Lamp, Pecker and all sorts of insanity. As soon as they were told I knew I'd be writing crack, and I did.

Some people liked the story, others didn't at all. I expected that. I mean, Kevin was the main character, I had Prince and Pete Wentz as two of the dwarves. There's no relationships except for some Kevin/Nick if you squint. Plus, humour is subjective, what I find funny may not translate to other people. But man, I did enjoy writing this. Even thought it wasn't trouble free. I owe nopseud, vaudevilles and mkstranny so much for their advice, support and beta skills. At one point all three beta read for me over night, because I suck and the story was so late. They made me look at the story, change things, add things, just made it better in so many ways. Sadly the gay dwarf orgy didn't make it in there *g*

It isn't an important story. It's not going to strike any hearts or be remembered, but you know. I like JC the online advice giver. I love Snarky, Winky, Twitchy, Emoey, Porno, The Artist Formally Known As Squeaky and Smiley. Joey made a good Avon man and you know Kevin would whip those dwarves into shape. So, I'm glad a couple of other people enjoyed it too, and despite the crit I read, I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe add in that orgy. You know dwarves give good head ;)

Thanks goes to pensnest for running such an awesome challenge. There were so many stories I loved this year. Dragons rule!

I did put clues in about Pete, about Patrick, the blogging and the underaged girls. But obviously they're not much use if you don't know that about him. He was my just because dwarf *g*

My feedback was late and short, but I loved this story. I especially loved JC and Lou. Kevin is a perfect Snow White, as he's very fair of face.

Sometimes having fun writing a story is the most important thing of all, really. I had the best time ever writing my Cabbage Patch Kid dolls story, and it's by no means an Important Story. But it was fun.

I thought your story was very imaginatively sparkly-cast, and I'm only sorry about that missing dwarf orgy.

Kevin as Snow White was one of those ideas that took hold and just wouldn't go. Considering I had nothing else, I just decided to go with it.

I did have fun writing it, and I think that's what I needed at the time. Having so many challenges so close got a little stressful, so something easy was perfect. Saying that though, the rewrites I did contradict the easy part.

Yeah, the dwarf orgy seemed a popular idea *g*

You got my feedback I suppose so you already know how much I loved this story!! I laughed all the way through, sometimes just a giggle and sometimes explosive paroxysms :-) JC as the "mirror" was wonderful and loved the dwarves! The only one I never managed to spot was Emoey - I did know he was supposed to be someone from one of the emobands but I had no idea of whom - but the rest of them I got almost at once. I loved all the little details, like the description of the dwarves' house and Justin losing his hair. I know that this is definitely a story I'm going to re-read many times!

All our stories can't be Teh Shit, it's true but it doesn't mean they're bad or that we shouldn't like them. And obviously some people did enjoy the story so that's a good thing to focus on :-)

Heh. I feel kind of bad about the betaing, because looking back it seems like it was all 'You should make him Nick! No, Kevin! Evil! Beautiful! Scary! Wait, he should definitely be Nick! No, that makes no sense, I changed my mind again, Kevin! Evil! Take Justin out! Put Justin back in! Scary, scary! Ni -- Kevin! No, WAIT!' and making you rewrite all the opening scenes about fifty times. Can I pretend that it was because LJ was so flaky and kept eating the comments, rather than me being confused and rubbish?

I thought it was a really fun story, and I totally adored all the dwarf scenes.
