Jun. 27th, 2007 08:56 pmI think LJ must be having cluster issues, I'm having a terrible job commenting and my journal keeps going into read only mode.
You ever feel like bashing your head against a brick wall? Mam just phoned, drunk off her ass and sobbing as she told me Kay's cat had bit her down to the bone. Apparently blood was gushing and Kay had taped her fingers together. So I told her James would pick her up and take her to the drop in centre because cat bites can be nasty.
I hang up and phone Kay for the real story. Kay's cat had been to the vets, and when they got back to the club mam had opened his carrier in the middle of the bar. Mr T panicked and scratched mam as he tried to get away.
Big difference in the stories.
Now James is pissed off that he's had to go bring her home, which I can't blame him because I hate dealing with her like this myself, but I can't just leave her there. Plus there'll be the inevitable phone calls, just to top of this perfect hour.
Yeah, there the calls go. Four so far, one hang up. The last one saying she'd called NHS direct and they'd said she had to go to hospital. Like I believe that.
Earlier Corey brought his uniform list home for next year. It's going to be over £50 just for his jumper, fleece, apron and p.e. shirt. That's without adding in the non branded stuff he'll need. In good money news, we applied for a grant through a disability charity and were accepted. It was to fix our boiler and the radiators that don't work. The repair man came out today and told us we're going to get a whole new boiler system for free. Which, result!
Also, finally my sparklyglee story is coming along very nicely. Talk about leaving it until the last minute though.
LJ not working for me might be a good thing in terms of that. Some time writing, a cup of hot chocolate, post results at
pop_appreciate (if I can) and then some Ezra/Vin. A fine plan.

Date: 2007-06-27 08:21 pm (UTC)Uniform list? Ohhh this is so British! *loves*
Good news on the grant. Hail to new boiler systems for free!
Hail to stories coming along nicely too *nods*
So hey, do you mean you're more an Ezra/Vin girl than a Chris/Vin girl? Or do you love both the same way? And also, important question; who usually bottoms in the first pairing?

Date: 2007-07-13 10:56 am (UTC)Hee, yes. We ordered his uniform this week. Of course he doesn't get it until September and it's non refundable, so I hope he doesn't grow this summer.
So hey, do you mean you're more an Ezra/Vin girl than a Chris/Vin girl?
Well right now I am. I love Chris/Vin still, but Ezra snuck in and took hold of my heart. They're so similar too. Despite the outward differences they're both loners with trust issues, so when they find each other it's amazing. As to who bottoms, which is a fine question I must say, it depends. It's very much a switch kind of thing. For example, in the Old West stories it's said that Vin learned sleeping with men was okay when he lived with the tribes, so he teaches Ezra. Then there's stories where Ezra is very much a man of experiment, so he teaches Vin.
Same with the ATF. It can go either way. It's the most fluid pairing I've seen with stuff like that. Probably because in fandom terms, they're booth woobies *G*

Date: 2007-07-13 10:48 am (UTC)I was reading at the Tar 'n Feathers (http://tnf.slashcity.org/) archive. There's some good stories on there, but like every archive. It's a case of finding it.
I was also reading at this (http://hometown.aol.co.uk/juliaverinder/M7_Gen_shorts.htm) site and enjoying it a lot.

Date: 2007-06-27 09:28 pm (UTC)That's a stupid amount of money for kid clothes. the school MUST be making a profit on that and they're not allowed to.

Date: 2007-06-27 09:46 pm (UTC)And I totally remember how exspensive uniforms were....My parents had to pay for them, yes, but! I still remember how ridiculous it was.

Date: 2007-07-01 02:23 pm (UTC)Uniforms are so expensive. It's annoying when you can get clothes so much cheaper, just without the school name.

Now LJ won't load for me either. Let's see if this comment goes through!

The uniform is horribly expensive. What makes it worse is if it doesn't fit they won't exchange. We have to buy in a few weeks, by the time he starts school he could have grown again.
*hugs tight*

Date: 2007-07-03 07:45 pm (UTC)o_O about the uniform. I like the idea of school uniforms, like, equalizers and what not. but jeez, that's a lot of money.

Date: 2007-07-13 10:38 am (UTC)I like the idea of uniforms too. But it does cost a lot. Especially when you can get it so much cheaper elsewhere.
