Aug. 12th, 2007 09:13 amI'm home. In fact I've been back from late last night, but was too tired to even log on. But I have now, and despite the fact I have like a million emails to sort out, and probably skip 1000 on the flist and have piles of dirty washing and stuff everywhere, my energy levels have rocketed up because
pensnest mailed me the best picture ever! Chris! Lance!
In fact it seems the fandom has been busy while I was away, which figures *g*
vaudevilles has been a star and has been texting with news, sadly my international texting plan ran out so I couldn't reply from the beginning of the week. But, I've had a good holiday. Much better than I was expecting. I may even share some details later, I'm sure you all want to know about the terrible magician and horrendous Meatloaf tribute band, but man, if
ephemera ever runs her 'write an AU about a location you know challenge', I'm so doing a sparkly redcoats AU. I totally planned one out this week.
I have to complain about one thing now though. You'll know I was keeping my new Harry Potter to read, and I did. I was enjoying reading it slowly, then yesterday I was sat in Skyline, waiting as James watched the match. I had my book, I had a chocolate milkshake, I was very happy. Then as I was nearing the end I discovered the publishers had messed up, and five chapters had been duplicated from the beginning of the book, and the proper chapters had been missed off. I wasn't at all happy.
I'd better go get organised. My SkyPlus has 2% of memory left so I see a few hours of watching tv in the future.

Date: 2007-08-12 08:41 am (UTC)Oh man, that sucks about the Harry Potter book. You'd think that maybe the publishers wouldn't screw up one of the most anticipated books of this year. *facepalm*

Date: 2007-08-12 08:45 am (UTC)That's what I was thinking too! I mean, the book is so popular, getting the pages in the right order should have been a no brainer. I guess mistakes happen when you're working flat out, I just wish it hadn't been my book.

Date: 2007-08-12 10:18 am (UTC)I actually spoiled myself just after the book came out. My flist was amazing in terms of cut tags, but I was curious about what happened. Saying that though, knowing the details was no comparison to actually reading them. The deaths especially are so much more powerful, the ones I got to anyway.

Date: 2007-08-12 10:28 pm (UTC)Yup, for sure.
A lot of the fun for me with the first reading is the 'OMFG what is going to happen?!' So I am especially grateful to my flist for not spoiling.
I hope the shop switches it and you really enjoy the rest!

Date: 2007-08-12 08:51 pm (UTC)The book thing must have been incredibly frustrating! I sped up as I got closer to the end (so I had to re-read the last few chapters yesterday) - to find the end *wasn't there* would have been agonising!

Date: 2007-08-13 11:40 am (UTC)I sped up too. I'd spent the week happily reading a chapter at a time, then on the last day I was so caught up I just read and read. Then was horrified when I realised what had happened. It was at such a critical spot too.

Date: 2007-08-13 06:08 pm (UTC)It's not good at all. And now I'm bookless until next week.
