Possible autumn sparkly challenge?

In my last post I suggested a challenge idea, and people seemed to like it. Now I'm easy and had such fun co running Sparkly Glee I may run with this. But, questions first.

I know the JuC swap is soon, and I'm determined trickc day will be celebrated on Halloween, but are there any more challenges or pairing days before SeSa?

Turlough suggested an autumn challenge, and that sounds good to me. Would that work for others?

The challenge idea was to provide a list of Nsync and BSB videos then you write the AU behind that video. For example, Girlfriend could be the AU set in a wreckers yard, The Call for BSB could be some post apocalypse attack while phaballa suggested that TIPY would be a parks services workers AU, one where JC makes his own furry creature trousers *g* Then think of how much fun you could have writing Nsync in the nut house with Lance being strangled by another inmate ;)

One video for each respondent, first come, first choice.

How does that sound?

Yeah, if we use Halloween, we run into TrickC day, if we use the community's anniversary there's some other pairing day around that (don't ask me what one, I can't remember. I think that it's Justin related somehow) - so chances are there just won't be anything this year. Add in the fact that I'm suppose to have surgery in either September, October or November. Blah. That or I could be really obnoxious and email Josh and say "if you want to do a challenge, it's all up to you." lol. Granted he'd probably strangle me if I did that.

I might try to catch up with him tonight, depending on my pain levels and if I'm online tonight or not. Right now I'm in that lovely pain haze where I'm pretty much saying "I don't care" to a lot of things, that if I wasn't hurting I would really care about. Does that make sense? I probably should be trying to sleep rather than babbling at you. *hugs*

I think solo videos would be fair game. I mean, how can we not include ADIDAS?

I think there should be enough to go around. Though I'd have no problem with people picking the same if they really wanted a specific video.

YAY! Turlough and I were just talking about an autumn fic challenge last weekend, but now we don't even have to organize it ourselves! ;)

IIRC, the JuC swap deadline is tomorrow, so that shouldn't intervene too much with any future challenges.

Of course the number of music videos is limited, so if there are lots of participants you'll run out of videos. Though that would take alot "" of participants I guess. But in theory. :)

Firstly, is TrickC day a for sure thing? Because I'm new to them but would really like to have a video or a fic ready for it.

Secondly, I'd take part in the challenge, I think. I'd like to get into writing again. Do you think the fic would have to be AU? Or could it also be something happening on set, based around the shooting of the video, involve the video in some way, etc?

That's great that you'd like to be involved with the challenge. I can't see why it couldn't be AU or non AU. The challenge is in using the video in some way. How that is would be up to the writer :)

That is awesome. Is there a community about it I can join or anything? Because yeah, my love for them is new, but it is *huge*. :D I have a video for them nearly finished. Maybe I should save it for the big day --- or not. TrickC day could just be an excuse to make *another* one.

There is, the only problem is the two fans that run it have moved on to new fandoms, and it's a closed comm that needs approval to get in. It hasn't be updated for forever though, so you're not missing anything.

Trickc is my OTP of pure joy! I'm thrilled that you're making a video based on them. I say make another one, because I'm greedy like that *g*

*ahem* The first challenge I did was the Reunion Challenge run by synecdochic back in 2005. There were three or four deadlines, based on various significant dates for the band. And people were encouraged to sign up for whichever one they could best manage. I have a feeling I didn't make the first one I signed up for, but managed to enter my story on the second one.

In my experience, deadlines is what makes people write. If there are two deadlines, nobody will meet the fist one. :)

Also a valid point. I ended up giving the one deadline, which should stop me getting all confused hopefully.
