Aug. 8th, 2003 04:49 pmToday is one of those days.
Started with hassle with the bank, trying to sort finances out is a *bad* thing. Then, but this is unbelievable. I had a visit from the environmental health people as someone had reported our rabbit for smelling!
I know exactly who it is, it's the old couple that live next door. They reported us for driving our car down to the house over about 20 foot of pavement. We have to do that as our house has no road/parking area next to it. We have to park behind the next row of houses so when we bought our main shop each month we'd drive over that little bit of pavement to get to the back gate. James can't carry anything because of his disability and it kills me to carry a full shop, bottles of pop, vegetables etc from where we park. But we were reported for doing that and now I have to pay to get the shopping delivered.
But this crap about the rabbit. She's *not* dirty, she's a normal animal who runs round the garden. She's cleaned out each week and for them to say she smells is pure pettiness.
The man who came out understood, he just suggested cleaning her more often if they make a fuss. But he still has to come out every week for a while to check and that pisses me off. He said he wishes if neighbours had a problem they'd just knock on the door and say, not get officials involved. I so agree.
I think they've got a problem because we bought our house, it used to be council property and there's kids on the estate now. See where I live used to be all older people but now there's loads of kids here.
I've had a plan to fence the front garden off for a while, it's bigger than the back and that way all Corey's outside toys can go there. And do you know what? I'm going to buy the biggest swing set, as well as the swing he has now and set it up next to their fence. Plus his seesaw, slide, sandpit and paddling pool, and *any* of his friends are welcome to use them. I used to tell them to keep the noise down when they played in the garden. But fuck that now, they get the authorities on me and they take the backlash. Bloody busybodies!

Date: 2003-08-08 09:38 am (UTC)tell Corey and his friends to be VERY noisy... *g*
Oh, it's like those people who want the dogs' vocal cords to be cut so that they can't bark anymore! I'm not a big fan of pets in general, but this is going a bit too far... Oh and the bitch's husband used to have traps in his garden to kill cats who came near his poultry (did I mention we live downtown? poultry! downtown!!) - jaws trap, which killed my mom's friend's cat...
MORONIC NEIGHBORS!! *grab crossbow* If you need it, i'll send it to you, or I'll jump in the first plane, love!

no rush answering that whiny question, that was just a 1:25 a.m. request! lol

Date: 2003-08-09 07:54 am (UTC)Everyone gets annoyed at other people sometimes, but you either put up with it or mention it to the other person, you *don't* go around attacking people, or killing cats. Fuck, some people make me wonder if they have any kindness at all.
Don't worry Corey *will* be noisy and if that doens't work I'll take that cross bow.

Date: 2003-08-09 07:57 am (UTC)I thought so. She can try and get me into trouble officially, but no one can tell kids to be quiet.
I had great fun yesterday standing with James and plotting where the new swing set is going. Just wait until she has a gang of children playing next to her precious rose garden.

Date: 2003-08-09 08:54 am (UTC)Yeah, my mom's neighbors were insane - honestly, they were! Who else could put traps on their garden?!

Date: 2003-08-11 04:40 am (UTC)No worries. There's been days that I posted so many times in LJ. I think it's because sometimes the friends list seems so stagnant, a drawback of being awake while other countries sleep. So I just want to do *something* so post again.
I like your posts anyway, so no apologies needed.
