We had the most pointless day out ever today. Yesterday the in laws asked if we wanted to go to Whitby, so we said yes. Thing was, we'd forgotten to take into account that the bank holiday traffic, so a journey that usually takes 90 minutes took over three hours. Then when we got there the place was packed, the most people I've seen there. You couldn't move for people and even had to wait for places to sit down. After circling the town twice we finally found a parking space, met up with the SiL, BiL and their kidlets, and had a late dinner. At which point they said they were going.

So for all that travelling we ended up staying for about an hour, before turning around to join the traffic jams to get back home. Good things though, the local charity were having a book sale on the bandstand, four books for a £1, including hardbacks, so I bought myself four books that'll stay in the car, for those boring moments when you need a book.

I've just had a quick skim of the flist for newsletter links, but I'll catch up on comments tomorrow as I'm tired and most importantly, Britain's Next Top Model is on soon.

Before I go though. The thought of JC in an episode of Las Vegas thrills me. JC! Danny! My tv may explode from the pretty. Also, [livejournal.com profile] turloughishere is a star and has been making [livejournal.com profile] autumnchallenge look gorgeous for me. Go and check it out, see what wonderful work she does. While you there you could even think about joining up :)

That really sounds like a not-very-interesting outing at all! But finding cheap books are always nice :-)

Thank you for the kind words!

It was a very boring outing, usually I love travelling, but not when you're crawling along in a line of cars.

You're welcome! The comm looks fantastic!

It was a sucky day, topped off by mam getting wasted and doing her usual phoning/texting trick just after I'd posted.

*clings*

Yes! New Chris! That's totally smile making!

Yeah, it does sound one hell of a pointless outing, all right. But at least you got books, that's always a good thing in my, well, book lol

It was a horrible pointless day. I mean, I enjoy travelling usually, but when it's that slow, no way. Then to get there and turn back. I boggled. The books were a good plus. I could have spent ages browsing all the stalls, and the later it became the cheaper they were. It was down to 9 books for £2 as we left.

There is nothing worse than being stuck in unexpected traffic, imho *hugs*!

What books did you buy though *is curious*? And have you signed up to goodreads?

We should have known better really, bank holiday traffic is always a bitch.

I got Watership Down, Divine Secrets of the YaYa sisterhood, some chicklit book with superstars and lots of sex and Ulrika Johnsonn's autobiography. Not that I'm interested in her as such, I just love reading autobiography's.

Nope, haven't joined goodreads. I'll check it out.
