a whole week?
that sounds wonderful. I would love to go, but since I only know three people that would be totally awkward :P
When does that take place? and where exactly?

Yep. A full week from February 29th to Friday March 7th, though the main Camp Sparkle takes part over the weekend, then you can stay on with the other sparkly people if you want.

I wouldn't worry about not knowing people. I've told you before how awkward I get, but at every meeting I've been to I've had a good time. Honestly, the pop fans are awesome, and

pensnest are the best hosts you could hope to have.

Seriously, a lot of people who came last year had met only a few of the other sparkly campers beforehand, or even none at all, and everyone had a great time.

There is. The director, the actors who played Harry and Max, and the cinematographer who seems to be the only one who has any experience at making films and who actually says some sensible things. In general it's okay, not least because it hides quite a lot of the dialogue. And it's sweet that, while the cinematographer is clearly painfully aware how how bad the film is, the other three are rather proud of it.

There's a hilarious bit where the actors are talking about how they got confused and ended up swapping dialogue part way through a scene, and then never reshot it, which does make that particular scene suddenly make a lot more sense.

Also, you get the feeling there's a large piece of paper taped up over the monitor they're watching with a list of words they're very much not allowed to mention, which looks something like:

CARTER
NICK
AARON
JANE
BACKSTREET
ANYTHING WHICH IMPLIES THESE ARE BASED ON REAL PEOPLE! NO! JUST DON'T GO THERE!!!

At one point someone, talking about the way the older brother looks, says 'I wish we'd been able to give him the tattoos', and then quickly shuts up.

Camp Sparkle is amazing! While watching the pretty pop boys is the focus, a huge part is meeting up with good friends, and the thought of being allowed to hang around with them for a week thrills me.

I second the 'don't be nervous' sentiment - I had so much fun at this year's CS and I had never met anybody before, only knew a few people from my flist and I have had social anxiety all my life. If I have to live on instant noodles between now and March, so be it. I'm going. :)

I still get horribly nervous before any meet up I go to, but that always lasts all of a minute or so. I just want everyone to come along if they can, because it's such a wonderful weekend.
