Sep. 23rd, 2007 07:26 pmWe've got a cat tower that the three cats share, it's big enough for them to see out the window, but of course only one can be on the top level at a time. They don't fight over it, but most days you'll see a cat at the top, and another looking up, the picture of patheticness because they want to be up there too! So, today we went to the car boot sale to see if we got get another. We did get one, but it's a small one. Only two levels, which is below the window. Since we got it none of the cats have sat on the big tower, instead they're sitting on the little one. One on the top, another sitting waiting to be up there. Cats are weird.
After we'd been to the boot sale we went to pick our own corn on the cob. We often see the pick your own sign and we were intregued. I have to admit, rustling through the corn field was fun, selecting cobs and twisting them off. Then filling a bucket with them before heading home. Corey and I washed, stripped and wrapped them in foil, then we backed three, and they were gorgeous. So sweet and lovely. I made a roast dinner, turkey, mash, onion and stuffing gravy and carrots all inside a giant yorkshire pudding. Thankfully my only plans for tonight are a long bath and some tv watching, because man, so full.
Anyway, have a meme. One of those make a list and answer question ones. Something I had a lot of fun thinking about. My list is below.
1. Chris Kirkpatrick
2. JC Chasez
3. Kevin Richardson
4. Brennan Mulwray
5. Tony DiNozzo
6. Spencer Reid
7. Jesse Kilmartin
8. Greg Sanders
9. Tom Paris
10. Justin Timberlake
Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Lancer (second-in-command), Big Guy, Smart Guy, The Chick? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?
Odds: Chris/Kevin/Tony/Jesse/Tom
Evens: JC/Brennan/Spencer/Greg/Justin
Okay, now I'm past immediately thinking Sureshot, I'd pick the evens. The leader would have to be Brennan, he's too alpha male to be anything but leader. Plus, he can shoot people with his electric bolts of doom! Second in command would be Justin. He uses his ability to charm people with his smile, something he does a lot when Brennan gets all macho and intense, then Justin will settle down on one of the mismatched chairs in the HQ, and watch as Brennan stomps around, then Justin would smile, you know that smile and Brennan would know that things would be fine. Of course that leaves the big guy role to be filled, which is a problem. While JC/Spencer/Greg are all tall, they're all also like sticks. So the stereotypical buff big guy won't apply. However, I'm going to pick JC because while he's lean he's got muscles and the ability to be majorly intense. He's the big guy that will kick someone's ass while wearing flowery pants and sparkles in his hair. Spencer of course has to be the smart guy, that position doesn't even need thinking about. Which leaves Greg as the chick, and you know. I don't think he'd mind. It means he gets to play with his hair more and expand his wardrobe to a sexy line of leather mini shirts and corsets that lace up the back.
Compare the matchups of 5/8 and 2/9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?
Tony/Greg and JC/Tom
Excuse me a moment, I'm torn between helpless laughter and flailing like crazy. You know, I think Tony and Greg would get on nicely. They're both up for a laugh while being serious about their jobs. I can easily imagine them meeting. NCIS turning up at a crime scene and meeting the CSI already there. Gibbs would get that look in his eyes when he sees people taking over 'his' scene, and would go talk to Catherine, who of course manages to charm him within seconds. Greg meanwhile is taking pictures of the body, then jumps, taking an unexpected picture when he turns and Tony is just there. They talk, about how they hate being hot and how sand sucks, just watching their bosses swap info. They discover they both like old horror movies and make a tentative date to see 'Alien Masters 4'. Later, when Greg gets back to work he pockets the picture he took of Tony. ( A close up of his face which isn't really flattering at all ) but still, he can't seem to bin it, and looks forward to bonding over plastic aliens and a bucket of popcorn.
As for plausible at a home culture. Considering Tom is from the future, I'd say a Tom/JC pairing wouldn't be strange at all. JC was a little bit put out at first, I mean, one minute he was on his tour bus, travelling along a deserted highway in the middle of the night, the next he's on some spaceship and being told his friends and family died centuries before. No wonder he's pissed. Then he discovers this awesome recorder that's actually implanted in his ear, so now he doesn't even have to write his music down. It just flows from his brain, which is like the most amazing thing ever! So now, most nights he's out with Tom in the flyer, letting the passing stars influence some of the best songs he's ever written. He just knows 'Sex Sounds Stars' will be a smash when he finally gets home.
Your team is 3, 4 & 6. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?
Kevin/Brennan/Spencer
See, at first I thought this was easy. Spencer has to be the mental challenge. Brennan the physical, but that leaves Kevin with the social, and certain people would say that he'd bore people to death in a social setting. But you know, I don't believe that at all! Kevin social challenge for the win!
7 becomes 5's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?
Jesse becomes Tony's boss.
Their working relation is fantastic! Especially when it turns to hot monkey sex in the elevator. Tony is always eager to please those in authority, though Jesse was a little put out one night when he was doing his best 'solidify his cock and drive them wild' trick one night, when Tony yelled Gibbs name.
1 finds him/her/itself inserted into 9's continuity. As far as anyone other than 1 or 9 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 1 be presumed to have had in 9's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?
Chris and Tom. That means Chris is in the Trek universe which delights me! Of course he couldn't do anything too technical. I mean, Chris is intelligent but all that shuffling and knee knocking. One minute he'd be fixing the warp drive, the next the whole ship would be on the verge of blowing up after one slip of the sonic screwdriver. I can see him in the galley with Nelix. Creating new food, and alcohol.
3 and 7 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?
Kevin and Jesse. It takes them days to work out the wishes. Kevin wants all these green things, which is all very well but Jesse's not about to wish for that if it means the Helix gets no fuel. In the end they compromise. Kevin wishes for a new super ecologically friendly power source. Jesse wishes that Emma didn't die and Adam turns back into the character he was in season one because OMG! season three made no sense at all and they changed an awesome character into someone he just wasn't and added a whole new level of complexity that wasn't needed in a show that was just perfect as it was, including Sanctuary which changed over night. The Zen garden, the dojo, where did they go!? Then they get one shared wish, which was to be great at basketball, because they're both sick at being mocked for losing at the game.
2 and 8 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 1. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 1 survive? How?
JC and Greg would try to kill Chris. That's easy! Greg would create some poison that was activated on skin to skin contact. JC spreads it on his body, and that night he climbs into bed with Chris. A few moments, clothes thrown everywhere and Chris is choking his last. Eyes huge and glimmering as he says 'I thought you loved me' Overcome with guilt, JC cries then kills himself by masturbating with the poison on his hand.
1, 6, 7 & 9 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?
Chris, Spencer, Jesse and Tom. Those four could make an awesome party. Chris is Santa. He loves dressing up anyway and it makes him glow inside to give gifts to needy kids. Then when they're sitting on his knee he makes mental notes of what each wants, then on Christmas eve he'd make sure those presents, no matter how expensive, are left on the doorstep along with clothes for the whole family and a vast spread of food that will last for days. Spencer would make balloon animals, smiling from behind his hair as he uses maths to plan how each balloon could be twisted for maximum effect. Jesse brings his computer and creates a hologram of reindeer that fly through the room, then discretely puts his hand to the wall, phasing the bricks to Santa can arrive in a burst of glory. Greg meanwhile is in charge of the music, singing along to jingle bells, kids hanging onto his ankles as he dances in place.
4 and 10 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?
Brennan and Justin. They would so do it. Those two are damned determined. If they decide to do it, they would. Justin would charm his way around the world, and Brennan would stun anyone that got in their way.
Gender-swap 5, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?
Tony, Greg, Justin. Tony the mostb change. From ladies man to lady. The man would be on a verge of a break down, then he'd discover how good his legs feel, and cup his own breasts, before heading off to the bedroom and the dildo that Marge from records left months before. Depending on the era, Justin could be the least. I mean, the curls, the big eyes, euro Justin could have been a girl for all we know.

It was lovely. I loved how it would flop in his face at times, and he'd push it back, and I'm so being a teeny over Tony's hair. It feels like I'm back in The Sentinel fandom again *g*
