Oct. 6th, 2007 12:23 pmI think I had a year scared off my life last night. To set the scene, it was late, it was quiet, and I was reading a great NCIS fic. It was long, really interesting and dealt with an evil supernatural being killing people and fixating on Tony. You know those stories you just can't look away from? Well it was one of those and the author had created this really creepy atmosphere. Then someone started setting off fireworks, huge bangs, and I just about jumped off my chair.
It's the Houghton Feast parade today. Corey's taking part with the scouts, they're pulling a bath for some reason, so I'll be down there, trying to pick him out of a huge group of scouts, all wearing the same t-shirts. Then when James gets home from work I think we'll hit the cinema, we haven't been for two weeks, the cinema cards will be feeling ignored.
There was such a mess up with our car yesterday. First they took out the fuel tank, then when they tried to fit the new one they broke something vital and wouldn't have the parts to fix it until today. James asked how he was supposed to get around without a car, and they told him they'd drive him home but he'd have to get taxis to work and back today, which considering how far away from here he works, really wasn't going to happen. Poor James was so stressed, this is a huge nationwide company dedicated to ensuring disable people can get around, yet they brushed off his problems. They said because his car is adapted he couldn't get a hire car, but he explained that all he needs is an automatic and power steering, and while a flip peddle is better so he can use his real leg to drive, he can manage without it if needed. They went away, they came back and said he could get a hire car on Monday, which really, what's the point of that? He asked why and they said there were none available yesterday, so he asked what company they used to hire from, phoned himself and found out there were seven automatic cars that he could drive away within half an hour. Strangely enough, once Motability found that out they authorised the hire, or maybe they did that once he threatened he was going to complain about the company. So now we have a brand new astra until Monday. It's all shiny with leather interior and buttons to press and play with. It is a little weird compared to our Zafira, the car's so much lower for one thing. But, it has four wheels and a engine, that's all we need.
and the scene with Hilda broke my heart. I suspected he was dead, but seeing the truth, her hugging the pillow. I had tears Tonight Robin Hood starts again, and I get to lust over Will. The new season of Strictly Come Dancing starts for real too. It's changed to the US format of having the results show a day after, which I'm not too impressed about. Still, Anton, Ian, Darren, Vincent. I'll be good to see them again.
I'd better get ready. I'm still slobbing around in my dressing gown, and I have a parade to get to.
