Oct. 8th, 2007 09:03 pmThe fireworks display was amazing. Such beautiful colours streaking against the night sky. It was lovely seeing all the people looking skywards, the collective gasps at the loudest explosions and falling glittering sparkles.
Shame it was all spoiled at the fair.
It was a situation I hate. It was so crowded you could only crawl along, squishing past people, getting elbows in your side. Then, and this is still making me fume, Corey finally got on his first ride. £3 for a ride lasting less than a minute, but he'd got money from his nanna, and wanted to go on. So, he gets in the car, only for the guy who checks the belts to grab him by the arm and haul him out, shouting no single riders. I swear, if I'd have been closer I would have slapped him. No one touches my kid like that. No one. As if it was it was so packed I couldn't get close, so James just pushed his way through people and went and raised hell at the control booth.
We left soon after that, and took Corey to the local Blockbusters where he spent his money on a playstation game. I'm still incredibly pissed off though.

Date: 2007-10-09 05:17 am (UTC)Okay, and, uhm, WHERE was this "rule" posted? And hell, even if it =was=, you don't go manhandling people for breaking it. I quite literally would have broken the man's arm, jesus. I mean, even if there's some valid reason for that and they really COULDN'T have let Corey ride, they should come up and say "Sorry, no single riders, I have to ask you to step out." You don't GRAB people. What really enrages me is that he did do the grabbing because Corey's a kid. He would have asked an adult, and that's just ten times more wrong. I know America is kind of redonkulous when it comes to throwing lawsuits around, but if it had been my kid and I wasn't within physical reach of that slimeball? Oh yeah, call my lawyer.
*sigh*
I hope this means karma has something extra-special-nice headed you guys' way. Honestly. *shakes head*

Date: 2007-10-16 05:24 pm (UTC)C's older now and I have no problem with him riding on his own, but I so wish that we'd have been closer, then I could have grabbed that idiot back. |Even now it makes me mad thinking about it.
