Dec. 30th, 2007 10:57 amA few days ago I saw that
china_shop was running a Due South contest to find pieces of pictures scattered in various posts. Which got me wondering about an adapted version for pop. Something like, find five pictures of the sparkly boys wearing yellow shirts. Find five sparkly LJers who will have a code word for you, which added together makes a sentence you'd submit to get your point ( LJers who had agreed to that of course ) five stories where certain things happen. Something fun for after the new year, that would hopefully get people chatting. Just casual, done in my journal for the honour of a banner or maybe the ultimate prize, a star virtual gift *g*
Any thoughts?
ETA:
trumpeterofdoom suggested it would be a good idea for the next round of
pop_appreciate and I agree with her. So who's up for the next round? Probably after the SeSa reveals.
Also, I've just seen that
ephemera_pop has started the 'guess what I wrote for MtYG' meme. So, guess what I wrote for MtYG! First three to guess get ficlets of their choice. Sadly this offer isn't available to my beta squad, except for
msktrnanny who still can't guess, but can request because her birthday is too close to Christmas and she never gets birthday ficlets.
Bonus points to anyone that links my name to excellent fic *g* Plus, if you do guess, I won't be confirming or denying until after the reveal.
We're going to my brothers very soon to see my nephew and niece, then off shopping for tomorrow. I just got squared up after Christmas, and now there's the New Year stuff. I tell you, I'm already missing my usual quiet New Years.

Date: 2007-12-30 11:10 am (UTC)I just looked at the comm, and it's nearly 6 months since the last set of challenges. I could easily adapt the scavenger hunt idea to make the next wave of appreciation over there. Mixing it up a little so the format doesn't feel stale.
I think that would work nicely!

Date: 2007-12-30 11:30 am (UTC)It's always so busy around this time of year, so sadly the fun stuff tends to get pushed aside. But I'm hoping that January will be much better, and a pop scavenger hunt will help push aside the pre holiday blues.
There's some fantastic SeSa stories. I haven't read as many as I usually do by this time of year, but those I have read have been good.

I sympathise. I would miss it a lot too if I were going to lose it. Apparently I'll get my quiet New Years since it'll be just the five of us. We might go out like we did a couple of years - to see a show or something - and then we'll get home to stuff ourselves with the delicious meal we'll have prepared beforehand. Nice and quiet. Exactly how I like it best :-)

Date: 2007-12-30 09:03 pm (UTC)To be honest, I'm pouting a little at losing my quiet new year. It's what we've always done, but today we had to go spend a load more money on food for a lot of people, and I need to tidy the whole house tomorrow, then be on host duty for the next two days when all I want is to be with my boys and read.
I know, the worlds smallest violin is playing for me now.

Date: 2007-12-30 07:21 pm (UTC)I'm not guessing - I haven't read enough stories yet and anyway I suck completely at it :-)
I hope you'd fun at your brother's and managed to survive the shopping trip!

Date: 2007-12-30 08:59 pm (UTC)I totally suck at guessing too, but I still like to see other people doing so, because it's fun.
I did have fun, thank you. At my brothers anyway, the shopping not so much.

Date: 2007-12-30 08:57 pm (UTC)I have doubts that anyone will guess to be honest. I haven't seen my name mentioned anywhere. I've foxed them all!
YAY for treasure hunt in'ness!
