Kerrang broadcast a total MCR session last night, so now I have Ghost of You on my tv, ready to break my heart each time I watch. Which I have to admit has been often this morning. In fact I'm sitting listening now while adding some more to the story I'm writing, which is Mikey and Gerard centric, again.

You know, I was so wary of writing in another fandom, yet now I am I'm enjoying it. It's fun, and scary, and utterly terrifying at times, because the fandom is huge. I'm putting myself out there, to complete strangers who know nothing about me. Against awesome stories, many awesome stories and hoping that someone will take the time to read what I post. While also hoping I'm not one of those writers, the kind people laugh at and talk about how they were excited about a certain pairing being posted then they read the story and blerg. I worry about these things, I can't help it. Yet it's exhilarating at the same time. Looking up as these facts that I need, watching footage for charecterisation issues ( that's my excuse anyway *g* ) writing and posting and people actually reading. Hope and Shatterproof Glass is one of the highest commented things I've ever posted. Which is just, whoa for me.

Of course I've never actually posted anything to a fic community or anything yet, I'm pretty much easing things into the open and seeing what happens. But still, it's fun :)

Things that aren't fun. Last night James and Corey were out for a drive, stopped at a T-Junction and a car drove past and clipped the bumper, scratching it and breaking the fog light. Last night wasn't a good night at all. James was stressed as hell, phoning around and looking things up because this is another £75 we'll have to pay on our insurance. So not only does our car get broken, the hire car does too. He was trying to sort things out this morning, but I'm not sure what's happening as of yet. I'm hoping we don't have to pay for this one too, because £150 is money we just don't have.

But, better things. You've all gone and read vaudevilles's story Domino Motion right? Because it's fantastic! I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek, and just *fans self* If you like gsf, and rimming, and hotness and Chris being the centre of sexual attention of all his bandmates, ( and if you don't, you should! ) then get yourself over there now. Give her the love she deserves for such a smoking hot story.

Now I'm off to read my story from Josh. My Mutant X season 4 story! I've been waiting until I have time to savour it, and that time is now.

Yay, more Mikey and Gerard, that is so awesome. You should so write an epic Mikey story!!

I get the whole new fandom fears thing. I tend to jump around fandoms in my writing, so I have that all the time. It's always a nail-biter when posting a new story. I'm never a big hit (except for my one Criminal Minds story and that still only garnered about 30 comments), but I'm okay being a middling writer.

It's always weird working out who gets read and who doesn't. I mean, I think you're a good writer, and that should mean lots of comments. I suspect your comment count will be high when you post the completed Mikey/Pete.

Seriously Terri, this is absolutely NOT something you should worry about! You're an experienced writer who knows how to construct a story and write enjoyable prose. The result might not be to everyone's taste (I mean, what is?!!) but in no way could anyone ever call it BAD!!!

I'm pretty much easing things into the open and seeing what happens. But still, it's fun

And that's the main point!!

It really sucks about the car! I hope James'll manage to sort things! By the way, how is he? You haven't said anything about his health lately and I wondered.

I haven't figured out comments and story worth yet. I've written some things I thought were great with nary a fanfare and some things I thought kind of sucked that did fairly well. It's a mystery.

I'm undecided about posting about my Mikey/Pete story. We'll see after I finish it. I might be done with it and just let it's known-ness stand as is. Sometimes I am contrary like that.

Yeah, you're right. I'm just having silly wibbles about posting in a new fandom, one which is huge and active and full of amazing writers. But I'll make my own little corner I'm sure.

James is still in pain, and that's bringing him down a lot. I think he's in a situation where he's hurting, so that stresses him out, which makes him hurt more, and so on. It's a vicious circle. But he has a hospital appointment soon, so hopefully we'll have answers.

I feel the same way about the new fandom thing. I want to sign up for spn bigbang, but I feel all new and intrusive and scared and just plain odd. And I wrote a little bit last night and it's the first time in over six years I've written anything but popslash and it just felt so weird and wrong, but fun and exciting, too.

You know how I feel exactly. It's such a mix of emotions and it is all weird and wrong when you write these people who are not part of the sparkly world.

It's the intrusive part that gets me the most. I know I have every right to write and participate in any fandom I like, but it's like wandering into a party where I know no one and they don't give a damn about me. That's kinda scary.

Still, I'm focusing on the fun and exciting part.

Also, I think you should sign up for spn bigbang. You're more than capable and if it's something you want to do, go for it!
