Mar. 29th, 2008 10:16 amHappy birthday to
_ducks! Abi, I hope you have a fantastic day, full of happiness and good thing. I'd send love from Kevin but it's your birthday, so I won't mention him today ;)
My kidlet has just told me I have eyes the size of the moon. I suspect this is a sign of many playings of Pretty. Odd.
James has decided to take our fence down this morning. The gate has been off for weeks now, and planks had fallen out leaving gaps, but at least it was up. Yesterday he bumped into one of our neighbours who said he knew someone who could fix it. They came and the guy said all the boards were rotten and would all need fixing. Which yeah, the chances of us being able to afford to do that are zero. So James phoned my brother, who got his friend ( our next door neighbour) to have a look, and he said the planks and posts were fine. Just needed re nailing, setting in new concrete etc.
This morning James has been out and pulled down all the planks, and while doing so another neighbour stopped and said he used to be a fence person, and would come and do the grunt work tomorrow for the price of a few drinks, which is an offer we're not about to refuse. Still, until then we have no fence at all, and it's weird looking out at the window and not having that barrier between our garden and the path.
In more fannish news. In the last 7 days I've written nearly 12,000 words and I strongly suspect this may jump by a few thousand more by the time I finish the story sometime today. This is insane. I only write this fast when I have a deadline approaching fast, not for a story I'm writing just because.
Still, it's good because next week I'm moving onto the choey wakes up gay on a pirate ship story \o/
ETA: Also, I've been reading at adult ffnet lately. In one story the author obviously got sick of writing it, so suddenly killed Mikey with a heart attack. So there you go, if you too are writing a story and are stuck, death is always an option.

Date: 2008-03-29 12:46 pm (UTC)\o/ indeed! I suppose I should start mine, because at the speed I write, I'm lucky if I have 100 words by the next Camp Sparkle. It's GSF + backstage + undercover (or underage, as I always read it) rentboys. *headdesk* The GSF alone would have been enough of a challenge!

Date: 2008-03-29 01:28 pm (UTC)Bwhee! I dunno though - that song is a readymade earworm [like U2's 'Beautiful Day']; mention any lyric, and it starts looping through your brain.
Congrat on all the writing! *twirls you* That has to feel so GOOD.
So..adult ffnet. Are you trolling the questionable quality fanfic again? And what's up with killing off Mikeyway? He seems to be the most popular sacrifical band member.

Death or the sudden appearance of ninjas.
