Aug. 26th, 2003 10:12 amMy life is surreal just now.
My mam phoned and asked if I'd phoned to see how James was yet. I hadn't so she said she would, five minutes later she phoned me demanding to know why I hadn't told her James was having surgery. Problem was I didn't know either. The nurse at the hospital had said that James had told me but my mam insisted he hadn't so the nurse said she'd get James to phone. Mam phoned me and I had a minor freak out as I knew nothing about it.
Waited a while, no phone call. In the end I phoned there myself and was put through to the ward. Spent 5 minutes trying to explain who I wanted to a nurse who couldn't understand a word I was saying. She eventually found James and brought him to the phone. Guess what? It wasn't him. It was someone who's name was the same except for one letter in the surname. It's him that's going for surgery. The poor guy came on the phone and didn't have a clue who I was. So he passed me back to another nurse who found out James had been transferred and I was put through to him, and no he's not having surgery.
I can't stop laughing just now. My whole body's buzzed with adrenaline from thinking he was going to surgery for half an hour then finding out it was a huge mix up.
I'll be pissed later I bet, but not yet.
