When I started The Awesome April Challenge I expected it to be a month long thing. But it wasn't at all, because
raynedanser ran It's Gonna Be May, and now
catviret is running The June Bug. There's already people signing up, and you should too! So go, sign, keep that popslash flame burning.
I had a glorious day yesterday. James was at work so I had the house to myself, and all I did was read fic, took a midday shower and changed into clean pjs, read more fic. Made tea, and burnt my hand *woe* then read more fic. It was a totally lazy and indulgent day and I loved it. Well, apart from when I realised really late it was Monday and
pop_newsletter needed posting, leading to a frantic scramble and getting it done minutes before midnight, and yeah, I know it's not a big deal being late, but I don't like to be.
So yes, so much fic. So much good fic.
I'll skirt over the fact that following a link from
silveryscrape I spent a good amount of time reading at a MPREG site, not even a fannish one either, but original fic, with manips and stories and man. When I logged on today and remembered that I wondered what the hell I was on. I need an intervention, I really do.
Today I'm writing something quite sort of weird, sort of h/c-ishy, and if anyone is willing I need a beta for a MCR story. It'll be really short, around 4,000 words I suspect but needs to be checked today. I know, I suck. I'd shove it on my beta filter but I always feel like I'm asking too much now, especially as it was a filter set up for popslash. Any volunteers? Just letting me know I'm not on crack would help.
To end. The Scouts have a media center where they're staying and planned to post blogs, pics etc. The first picture has just gone up and while I can't see Corey, I got such a pang of missing him.
ETA: I'm sorted :)

Date: 2008-05-27 12:59 pm (UTC)Also - when you cave and make a bandslash beta filter, stick me on it, and in the mean time - send me fic?
xx

Date: 2008-05-27 02:24 pm (UTC)I've just sent it, and I suspect I do need to cave and make a new filter. I'm just so spoiled because my popslash betas are so good and I trust you all so totally that finding more people is scary. Still, I'll have you and Sperrywink on there for sure.

Date: 2008-05-28 03:37 am (UTC)Aargh - don't you hate it when that happens? I've been in bed a couple times when all the sudden I realized I hadn't posted the newsletter. And yeah, I know everyone would be fine if one was posted late, but it would bug me. ;)
Hmm, a mpreg site - I may need to check that out!

But really, I could do without the frantic coding and gathering of links as I watch the clock tick toward midnight *g*
You should check out the site. There's a lot of interesting stuff there, and bad, but still.
