May. 30th, 2008 12:08 pmI suck. A very happy belated birthday to the lovely
strippedhalo. I hope it was a fantastic day! *sends love*
I've been enjoying the pictures the scouts have been posting this week. Highlight was seeing Corey zipping down a high wire, on a mountain bike speeding down a mountain side and canonying ( sp?), which seemed so much fun. They all put on wet suits and followed a river, sliding down mini waterfalls and climbing rocks, and from what he's seen he's had a blast. It made all the work getting sponsors, bag packing etc so worth it. They'll be setting off to come home about now, getting back at dinner time tomorrow. I may have to embarrass him with a big old hug *g*
I finally have an idea for the Dragon Challenge. I know, talk about last minute, but it's giving me glee just thinking about it.
And I still hate it! I knew what would happen, I thought I was prepared, but my god. WHO THE HELL THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA!? It made no sense, suddenly, in less than 20 minutes Zach turns into a stealing, flesh eating murderer. I think not. I'm so angry. So angry! It's character assassination and nothing they said makes me believe he'd actually do that. I have no idea if I'll watch again, because right now when I think of the show I want to spit.
They loved him so much, he loved them so much. So obviously he'd go and do that. Obviously.
I do love the Last.fm gizos that show what people have been listening to, however, it does make it very embarrassing when it documents that you've just listening to Snakes on a Plane on repeat for 8892799037 times. Not that I'd do that....ahem.
Which brings me nicely to this.
1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.
enoughoflove gave me a N.
Muse: New Born I love this song so much!
Limp Bizkit: Nookie -- I had quite the thing for Limp Bizkit back in the day, especially Wes Borland who's damn hot. Yes, that included reading Fred Durst/Wes slash. Do not judge me, for I've been in fandom a long time and any shame is long gone.
Placebo: Nancy Boy Another song I like a lot.
Panic at the Disco: Nine in the Afternoon This is an amazingly catchy tune and one that always makes me happy when I listen. Plus, it reminds me of the ladder scene of much awesomeness.
Linkin Park: Numb Linkin Park have been one of my favourite bands for a long time. I've loved ever album they've released and this is one of their songs I love the most, as well as many many others *g*
None of their songs matched the letter, but I have to say I've been loving Elliot Minor lately. They're on Kerrang a lot and I downloaded their album and loved it. This is them at Youtube singing my favourite song Parallel Worlds. The video taped off someone's tv showing the keranng channel, so you see it exactly how I do.
ETA: Oh man. Limp Bizkit double bill on my tv. I've summoned the Durst! Surely I only said his name once!

Date: 2008-05-30 11:24 am (UTC)AhahahahaHA. Ain't that the truth? It's sort of like, after a certain amount of time...you just don't care *g* I think words like "lava lamp" and "ass babies" sum things up so well :)

Date: 2008-05-30 02:28 pm (UTC)Exactly! There comes a point when things just don't get to you, and I passed that a while ago. Though it does mean you have to put back on your filters in non-fannish company *g*
Talking of lava lamps. I don't know if you read but Camp Sparkle is going to be in an old chapel next year, one with a pulpit over the living area. Having the lava lamp story read from that is going to be awesome!
It's good to see you comment btw. You've been quiet.

Speedy dragon-writing!

Date: 2008-05-30 02:30 pm (UTC)The dragon writing is going well. I just hit 1000 words, though somehow I suspect people will know which story is mine.

Date: 2008-05-30 11:50 am (UTC)I watched the Bones finale because it got me curious and I thought it made no sense whatsoever. Then I told myself it might have been because I hadn't watched the show and maybe that twist had been more or less hinted at throughout the season, but apparently it wasn't and it just came out of nowhere? Then it sucks even more.
I'm not exactly a music buff or anything so I'm not sure I could answer that meme but in case I can, give me a letter, plz? I'll see what my playlist and I can do :-)

Date: 2008-05-30 01:36 pm (UTC)Like all other shows, Bones was affected by the strike and this storyline wasn't 'fleshed out' the way they originally intended, That being said... they didn't miss anywhere near enough episodes to make the arc believable. The character they ruined is so far from that person... GRRR. I'm not exactly surprised they went ahead with the idea anyway, but I still think it was a lousy call.
I do wonder how many other shows finales seemed off and shocking because of the lost episodes that would have contained story arc.

Date: 2008-05-30 02:32 pm (UTC)The Bones finale made no sense at all. Like Karey said, they did miss episodes due to the strike, but there was no hint at all in any proceeding episodes. It's like, one minute he's the guy we know and love, the next an insane killer who eats people. No sense at all!
You can totally have a letter. Have a H!

Date: 2008-05-30 02:36 pm (UTC)There had to have been better ways to write him out. Ways that made sense and stuck to his character. He's been given such a disservice and it sucks, because Bones was one of those shows where I loved the interactions of the main cast. It was written so well, and now they've dropped this stupid ending in that I detest.

Date: 2008-05-30 01:21 pm (UTC)Corey's trip sounds so awesome, and it's such a neat idea that they are posting the pictures as they go along so you can see what's up with your kid. Very cool.
I am not filled with rage about Bones, because I'm still stuck on confused. It just makes no sense! It's like they literally didn't know who they were going to write as the killer until they were 3/4 of the way through the episode, and they were like, "Crap! We need a murderer! Eeny, meeny, miney, Zack!" WTF? So bizarre.

Date: 2008-05-30 02:39 pm (UTC)Corey's trip sounds amazing, and it's been so reassuring seeing the pictures and blogs each night. It makes him feel nearer in a way.
"Crap! We need a murderer! Eeny, meeny, miney, Zack!"
It was totally like that. There was no build up to it at all, no hints or anything that will ever convince me that he was going around eating people and stealing from the people and place that was so important to him. I love the show, but it failed here, big time.

Date: 2008-05-30 02:32 pm (UTC)Yay! for a Dragon Challenge idea!! (And what do you mean "last minute", you've got a whole WEEK left :-)
I'm not taking any of your songs but I do want a letter, please.

Date: 2008-05-30 02:41 pm (UTC)That's true. I've written challenge stories in a lot less than a week, and I've a nice start, so I'm not worried. The content maybe, getting it done not so much.
And what's wrong my songs? They'll get a complex ;)
But a letter for you. Have a F.
