Happy Birthday wishes go out to both
lazydwarf and
luciamad I hope you both have fantastic days ♥
People that know this stuff better than me, explain what a one shot is in terms of storyfinding comms.. I thought it meant a one off story, but that doesn't make sense. Because do people really only want to read multi part epics where the total of each chapter is less than 1000 words? Wait, what am I saying? Of course they do.
I have such a love/hate thing going on with storyfinder comms. 1
I want to read epic length stories where someone gets impregnated by aliens. and someone steps up to be the baby daddy, but there's a crash and the baby is aborted so the boymomma loses his mind with grief and there's blood vomitting and then Mikey dies.
I'll read any pairing but I hate waycest, Gerard/Ray, Bob/anyone, Mikey/Frank and no Ray sex please, ewww. No stand alones, and it has to be rated G or above.
1 In which I mean I love them beyond reason really, and yes, I'd read that.

Also I'm confused. Is the person asking about a story they actually read before, do they expect someone to write it for them, or are they asking on the off-chance that there just happens to be an alien MRPEG with space-ships crashing and ass-miscarriages and blood vomitting and then Mikey dies?

Yep, sounds familiar.

Date: 2008-07-10 02:38 pm (UTC)The things people ask about in story finder/story rec comms can be so mindboggling. (Not to mention the idiots who ask for recs in finder comms and for specific stories in a rec comms - IF YOU CAN'T READ COMM RULES HOW ON EARTH DO YOU MANAGE TO READ STORIES?!!! Uhm, I might feel a bit strongly about this :-)

Date: 2008-07-10 04:52 pm (UTC)I think I read a SGA or Torchwood story like that, except there was no Mikey and he didn't die either. Woe. ;-)
It's interesting to see that they will read any pairing, though... *g*.
