I wasn't impressed at all this morning when my speakers decided to act up again. They're controlled by a control thing that's attached by a wire to the actual speakers ( I know, I'm the most technical minded person ever ) and I suspect there's a loose wire somewhere because with careful manipulation they will work eventually.

Anyway! Point being I was on the verge of re downloading on Corey's computer when they finally gave me voices as well as sound. Which is good . OMG! Angels! That was so awesome. I love the idea of Dean on one side with the angel of God, and Sam on the other with Ruby at his side. Sam's powers, oh heck yes. I'm looking forward to this season so much

I'm back in the groove with my Space AU again. I got stuck for a while, basically second guessing everything I'd written and was trying to say. So I pushed the story toward [livejournal.com profile] nopseud who stepped in with reassurances and suggestions. Ones that made a lot of sense and also gave me the push to get going again. One thing that was tripping me up with the sci-fi aspect. Making up names is surprisingly difficult, and while I do enjoy thinking of the worlds they're in, I kept looking at the names of things, which honestly tended toward a garbled mixture of random letters, and wondering what the heck I was doing. But, now I have background notes, and I can start to unify my terminology and it's fun. Well, for me. Not so much them at the moment.

Talking of writing. Yesterday I comment ficced something for [livejournal.com profile] crowgirl13 which I think came out okay. In which Gerard draws Mikey into life

I'm motoring now :D

Anna's the perfect person to talk stories with. She's got an amazing knack of poking at what needs poked.

Yeah. From her suggestions I've tightened up the whole thing, and now Gerard's home world is one where music is forbidden as well as being an area that's cut off and insular and the inhabitants aren't told about the beat that surrounds them with the result it's muted due to lack of use and any concerts, singing etc have to be done illegally. Which is why the police raided and sold any survivors into slavery and can you imagine Gerard without music? It's tragic!

Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm just well into the whole universe at the moment.

It definitely sounds like a problem with the wires. Do the wires plug in (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11730506/Audio_Extension_Cable.jpg) to both the controller and the speakers, or are they encased in the plastic of one?
If you can't replace the cord you can probably still figure out where the break is and cut and splice the wires.
I have a really bad habit of winding my turntable speaker wires around my fingers which causes them to break down quickly. It's bad enough that I keep a jackknife and a roll of electrical tape on the shelf beside my records.

They're encased in plastic, which I imagine would make a fix more difficult. Still, knowing it is possible makes me feel happier. I'm sick of them cutting out on me.

Thank you!

Boo speakers. They suck.

BUT YAY for BOB in SPAAACE!! That's awesome that you are unstuck on it. Sci-fi is a hard genre to write in. There is all this imaginary world building and other-ness to build. But I think you are doing great so far!

They do! I just wish they'd be consistent. Fail totally so I have to suck it up and buy more, or work already!

Thanks for the cheering on. Your points helped a lot when I was going back through the first section and seeing the problems. And now I'm up to Pete, who's sad :(

I woke up this morning, far too early too I may say, and was lying in bed after getting James off to work and started thinking about a plot point. Which of course woke me up totally....sigh.

Have a happy Pete to make up for the sad one in your story. I'm glad my comments are still a help.

Yes, thinking of plot points will totally wake you up. I'm sorry you woke up early on a Saturday. I've been thinking about happy, yet insecure, boys in love, and after snuggling with the cat for an hour and a half, I am ready to try my hand at writing some of it down.
