My sister and her friend have taken over my living room, which means I can't do anything I was planning to do. So, have an icon meme.

take every ten of your icons and explain them.



I'm not putting key words btw because I have no imagination and they tend to be, Chris one, Chris two etc.



Mikey Way, and I love the look on his face so much. This one time I will share key words because they're 'the look of eeeep' because each time I see the icon I sit and eeep. I don't even know why, I just love it. I imagine he's watching something going on, and is a little unsure about it, and just. I love this icon so much.



Chris from Challenge. It was the year when he was in a mood with himself, and spent a lot of time sitting on the pool steps as various of the other sparkly boys stood behind him, or in JC's case, wandered around the outside of the pool. I tend to use it for more serious comments or posts.



digital_diva made this for me for my birthday a few years back. It's one of my happy icons, and it's happy trickc, because Chris and JC are made of love, stardust and sunshine and when you see them you should be happy too.

CRAMP!

So, for people that don't know. There's this terrible story where JC and Lance fuck Chris with a lava lamp. A few years ago there was a sparkly meet up at nopsueds and mickeym read the story outloud. As often happens at these gatherings an in joke was born. Except this in joke spread, until suddenly Cramp was an actual popslash pairing. Which is something that still delights me, because really. What other fandom could that happen in?

One day I was messing around and manipped a lava lamp into Chris' hands, the rest was history.

I tend to use the icon for crackfic/badfic posts. Of which I tend to make many /o\



Voyager. My love for that show burns like a thousand fiery suns. I'm a trekker, done the conns and everything. Voyager is by far my favourite of all the Treks. It frequently annoyed me, like seriously. Paris being demoted made no sense at all! And it often had terrible episodes. Tom/Janeway lizard babies anyone? But it also had amazing ones with actual arcs that worked and worked well.

I tend to use the icon for space-ey type comments, because I have a few space geeks on my flist :)



It's Chris again. There's not much to say about it really. I made it when I actually made icons and like how it turned out. I tend to use it on the more serious comments, not the ones that are really bad, but not the squee ones either.



And where you have Chris, you should have JC :)

Pensnest made this one, and I love it. JC looks so dashing in his glasses. This gets used for the JC girls, of which I seem to have many around me. No idea how that happened *g*



My crossover OTP!

It's funny, I have one true characters mostly, but this is an iron-clad OTP for crossovers. I mean, I'll read others and enjoy them lots, but Mikey/Pete is where I hold up my OTP flag. They just, delight me. I devour any stories I can find of them, and the ones which end happily give me so much glee. I often talk with Sperrywink about them, how they'll get their happy ever after with black painted picket fences with skulls attached. Lots of dogs and cats and them talking to one another on their sidekicks, even if they're in the house at the same time.

This is also the second bandom icon I ever got. See, I stressed about getting a bandom icon at all, because it meant admitting I was in the fandom officially. Which, yeah.

My love for the Ways is huge. I can't even begin to say how much because I start to flail and it comes down to Ways. They're just, such brothers and they think each other hung the moon and I adore them so much. See, flaily.

I tend to use the icon for other Way lovers, or when I comment for someone who likes Gerard and want to sneak in a Mikey ;)



I wish I hadn't missed Ryan's make-up phase, because I thought he looked good. And really, how can you not love someone who gives himself a huge black-eye and has carefully sculpted hair?



Mikey! Mikey in his hat. This is by samelthecamel and I have a lot of their icons because I really like the colouring on them. So yeah, Mikey in all his glasses, beautiful lips, hatted, pointed hair glory.

Man, I suck at this meme. My explanations tend to stick at, look at him! Why wouldn't you have that icon?



This is my happy Gerard icon. I really like how it turned out, and I tend to use it a lot. On posts where happy things are happening, because look at him? He's full of joy. Gerard <33333



This is by musiquedevie and as soon as I saw it I needed it. Justin is awesome, no lie. I tend to use it as a YAY icon, and hope that people don't think the awesome is supposed to mean me, because I really don't intend it that way.

Awww Voyager, I've been on a nostalgic trip lately (and I blame Bob Picardo and seeing him on a weekly basis again on Stargate)and watched a couple of episodes.

And it often had terrible episodes. Tom/Janeway lizard babies anyone?

LoL Threshold was so bad that it was good again. I think some of those holodec malfunctions episodes were even worse. Like the one with the irish where Harry ended up kissing a cow? lol

I always remember Threshold more for Tom's tongue falling out than the lizard babies. The whole thing is just surreal.

Man, yeah, the holodeck episodes could be horrible. Still, for every cow kiss there was a Bride of Chaotica or Killing Game.

For me the worst episode ever was The Fight. I hated it.

The Fight! Oh god yes, I think I've seen it once and never again. I don't think there is a Chaktotay episode I really liked, except Timeless but that was more Chakotay/Harry and besides it was the 100ep and all.

You know, I didn't mind Chakotay as a character, but his episodes were terrible. He's fine as second in command, but carrying an episode? No way.

Icons are such interesting things, seeing why people have the ones they do, and when they use them or why. Sometimes an icon speaks to me. Like the look of eeeep one. They're tiny squares and yet they manage to capture some emotion and that's so fabulous.

The lavalamp thing. The story is infamous in popslash because it's so bad, laughing at it is the best way to cope with the knowledge that someone actually thought lava lamp fucking was a good idea.

I'm didn't know you were a Star Trek fan. I'm a huge fan as well. Although the first show is still my favorite, I enjoyed Voyager quite a bit as well. And the Janeway/Paris lizard mutation episode was one of the most scarrific episodes of television ever. Eww.

I love Trek a lot. While Voyager is way up there as my favourite I've watched all the different ones, and am itching to see the movie.

Though I think taking it off the air was the right thing to do. The franchise needs a break for a while.

Bob doesn't know where to start. The first time he met Bert and realised the crazy fucker with the lank hair and insane smile was the one who'd pulled him close. About that first insane journey where they'd learned to live in cramped conditions. Falling over one another and invading scant personal space.
Fights and arguments and fighting to survive each day.

Flying with Quinn sitting behind him, yelling with delight as they flashed through space.

Waking up with Jepha crammed into the same bunk, his face pressed against Bob's neck.

Cleaning down the ceiling when Bert experimented with firecracker soup.

Running with Branden, a muskhog nipping at their heels.

Bob could tell those memories and a thousand others. They're the ones he should remember, but time and distance has made them blurred at the edges as opposed to others that remain crystal clear. The ones with cutting edges and sharp corners and even now, Bob can recall every detail like yesterday. Sticky blood and pale skin. Crooked limbs and final pleas, the scent of fire and piss and shit. Shaking hands against raw wounds and having to sit as the beats around him slowed. Slowed. Gone.

"They were fantastic," Bob says. "They were my crew."

Gerard reaches out, entwines his fingers with Bob's and holds on.

And damn it to hell. This has just reminded me I've missed Branden out completely at the end part.
