Happy belated birthday wishes to [livejournal.com profile] raynedanser. I know you're not around, but I'll send them anyway ♥

Kayleigh seemed to stay forever yesterday. She has no internet at her house so they come over to check Facebook etc, and then camp down for hours. Which I don't actually mind, it's just the way Corey's computer is set up means it's right to the side of mine, and while Kay knows that I'm fannish and write, it's off-putting to have her read and recite what you're doing. Which she'd do because she's annoying like that.

Still, I got my revenge by posting a very unflattering picture on her facebook wall. Which she freaked at, big time. I did delete it though; eventually.

She worries me a lot. Living at the club as she did means she's got few day to day living skills. She's always penniless and the club have cut her hours to 15. She does things like put the heating on so she's warm when she leaves the front door open for the cats and despite having to borrow money for cat food was phoning around yesterday for a puppy.

Mam's being driven insane with worry about her, which is bad as mam's not well either. She finally went to the doctors on Monday, and she has a lung and chest infection. She's on steroids at the moment, but at least they're making her eat.

Anyway, by the time Kay had gone it was time for James to come home from work and I got nothing done. Which included some linking I'd meant to do, because Josh has posted another of the Mutant X virtual season episodes, and as always it's made of awesome! They just keep getting better, and it remains one of the best gifts ever. Episode 7

I posted edition 90 of [livejournal.com profile] pop_newsletter on Monday. I really don't know where the time goes. I'm so proud of that comm, and [livejournal.com profile] wistfuljane is doing an amazing job of the attached delicious. Sometimes I think it could be better, but the things I do miss are things I just don't see.

Bob in Spaaaace! is now over 23k words long. When I joined the wip comm I said it should be finished in 20k, now I suspect it'll be over 30. I'm on a roll at the moment, so the first draft may be done by the end of the week. At which point I'll head off for [livejournal.com profile] connotations and worry what my betas think. Sadly, I've also decided it can't be called Bob in Spaaaace! when I post, which breaks my heart, but I'd hate people to think they're getting some light-hearted muppet story, when this isn't at all.

To end. I've been enjoying this picture.

You are made of awesome!

(And it really worries me when people who can't afford it keep seeming to want more pets. The animals will suffer in the long run. Boo.)

I'm surrounded by awesome people, is what it is.

Yeah, I fully agree. Kay loves her cats, but she can't seem to see that adding a dog to the mix means much more pet bills. Inoculations, food, so much you need to budget for.

How's things today? Still on a BSB high?

Dogs are so much more expensive than cats, and are a huge training and time commitment. I think that's why so many end up in shelters. Because people have no clue. Even my mom gets crazy about all the work a puppy is and how many times have they had a puppy? 6? 7?

I am so delirious on my BSB high, Terri. It's not even funny. (Or wait, it probably is.) After the last concert, I immediately wanted to see another, but everything within driving distance was sold out. And then I was extra-bouncy for days afterwards. And last night? I was extra bouncy just in anticipation and memory. I think it's going to be an awesome seat this time. And I keep looking at all the rabid fangirls in the fanclub. They're so moronic, but I can't look away, it's like... train-wreck syndrome. And at the same time? I really do want to try for the VIP soundcheck thing (but then I feel guilty because I'm not insane like those girls. I don't want my picture taken with them even if I have the opportunity, I don't have any questions to ask them, I just want to see them at soundcheck. I wouldn't mind a chance to say hi to them? But I'm not a 21 year old who's going to wet herself and cry over it) so... like, I feel like I'll be a fake if I try?

How dorky does that make me?

Exactly. We spent much more money and time on Tex. I mean, he's wonderful and I adore him, but he's a big commitment too.

Man, no. You wouldn't be fake for wanting to do that. I think seeing the soundcheck is a very valid thing to want, and just because you're not a moronic fangirl doesn't mean you should pass up that chance.

I say go for it. Fans are a mixture of all sorts, and you like their music, like them. Really, how can any of that be wrong?

Embrace your dork hood and try!

Still, thank you <3

Are you less sleep deprived yet?

Oh, hell, go for it. I remember the utter joy I got from meeting (and hugging, let's not forget that part) Lance Bass, and I'm, koff, 48. You don't have to be a screaming teenie.

Look at the icon I made! You want to share? I couldn't resist his cute litle leaning boots.

Yay you and the Pop Newsletter!

Wow! BOb in Spaaaace is going swimmingly. Keep up the great work!

I'm so sorry you've got all these worries about your family. Wouldn't life be easier if we could pick people up and shake them into shape? Still, you have an array of tiny little bottoms, which is obviously some consolation.

I went to bed at 1:30 last night and slept until 9. Which is better than I've been doing, I've been up until 3 since we came home. So I'm slowly fitting back into my own time zone. I don't know why it takes me so long.

Families really need to just do what's expected of them.

But yes, I have bottoms to oogle, and Lance to watch. So that's of the good.

Dude, you should *totally* go for the soundcheck, if you want to be there. Think how nice and refreshing it will be for them to have someone in the line-up who just says hi, I like your music and I had a great time at the last concert, instead of trying to stuff a phone number into their pockets or conceive their children right on the spot. You'll be a breath of non-crazy fresh air.

Also, we can get a reliable report on really important things like, how do they all smell, and how do they feel when you hug them, and that kind of thing. We try asking JM, but she blacks out when she touches AJ, so her description is lacking in detail ;-)

Bob In SPAAAACE, yay!

You should do an estimate of how much money you spent on Tex, and give that to you sister. Maybe seeing it written down in black and white would help her.

You'll have to say hi to people at Connotations for me. Maybe I'll be there next year.

You know exactly what I want to say to them! :D You must be a sensible fan, too!

I hear there's "no hugging" rules, but they're broken all the time.

I won't black out :D but I am wondering if I made a NickC shirt/badge, they'd all just think the C stood for Carter.

Aww. :)

I'm taking a break from the actual production of words to have a look at the first half of it and figure out what the hell I'm doing with it. The story that came out is very different indeed from the story I intended to write so there's a lot of work ahead trying to reconcile the two.

It's a bit intimidating actually! Eep!
