We've been out and started out Christmas shopping today. Two Macca Pakkas, Bratz dolls and two X Box games and that's three of the niece and nephews done and some of Corey's gifts. My last niece wants a fold up toy clothes horse but they didn't have anywhere we were. Still, I imagine it shouldn't be that hard to find.

It was dark when we were driving home and as it's Guy Fawkes night people were letting off fireworks and we passed a giant bon fire, the signs of a good Guy Fawkes I feel, burning stuff and blowing things up. From where I am now I can see the smoke in the air and hear the bangs of countless displays; which is nice. Especially as it's not bothering Tex. On Halloween night our neighbours had fireworks in their garden but it must be the shocks that Tex can feel and not the actual sound, because he's happily sleeping right now.

I went to bed last night and watched some of the US elections, I woke to the news Obama had won. It's been so wonderful seeing the happy reactions, utter joy and renewed sense of hope on my flist. I'm so happy for you all.

I wish I could say something about silliness of Christmas shopping this early but as I bought my mother a Christmas present today that would probably be a little hypocritical ;-)

It's only a matter of weeks away, and doing it little by little suits me fine. The less time I spend in the crowds in December the better!

I hate shopping and especially when there are huge crowds! Internet shopping is love :-)

Wow, you start your Christmas shopping early! That's probably a good idea, though, because I always wait to the last minute and then have to deal with the huge crowds.

I don't really like shopping so getting it done before the crowds is always my plan. Plus, if we have the money it's best to spend it or it'll go on other things :)

Yay, Christmas! I don't do much shopping though since I only buy three gifts every year (parents, sister and bff).

Any holiday involving fireworks and bonfires is a good holiday! :)

Christmas is awesome. Though I saw someone who'd decorated already yesterday, and that's far too soon.

Fireworks and fire. They are good things.

I'm having this weird split sensibility, half joy and half bitter disappointment. But I do hope and believe Obama will make things better for the nation and the world. So!

I was disappointed, too. Seeing my flist so full of joy and then the shock when it hit that Prop 8 had been passed. Still, it's a new start and things can get better I'm sure.
