I could do a whole rambling post about 2008, but I won't. What it comes down to was, some bits sucked big time, some bits were fantastic and at the end of it I've a roof over my head, food in my belly and two boys who love me.
I've also got fandom, and as wank filled and ridiculous as it is at times, I love it. The way that it's made of so many different fractions, but when need be can pull together into something solid.
And I've got my friends. If I had time I'd name check you all, but from the lurkers -- who are always welcome here, though I hope you all know I don't bite if you want to talk. To those people I've known forever now -- seriously, I have a handful of friends who pre-date me getting my LJ a lifetime ago, to those that are new but it feels like I've known them for years, and all those in-between. People that are more than a name on a page. You all know who you are.
Thank you. For the comments, the fun, the insanity, the emails, for sharing your lives. For being there to mop up my tears, to laugh with me, encourage me and just plain be ridiculous with me. I've never been able to understand how I got so lucky as to be surrounded by such amazing people , but I'm so thrilled that I am.
Because you know what? You're all awesome! <3
Now I need to go make a trifle, because we're having a new year's buffet. Party food then more Mikey/Frank/Pete, later. Not a bad way to round out the year :)
