One of my MCR stories has been asked for on a fic finder comm. Obviously I've now arrived.

Though seeing my own summaries given by someone else just shows how lame they are. My summaries suck, as do most of my titles. Like my MtYG story, that has the lamest title ever.

You've totally arrived! I think I've only been searched for in a SGA storyfinders community, which amuses me greatly. The one fandom I'm not thrilled with, you know?

No, my MtYG story has the lamest title! We can battle for it. *puts dukes up*

Why are summaries and titles so hard? It shouldn't be that way. (Sound Tracking is a great title.)

Story finder comms, I love them so much, especially when they make the best stories sound like utter badfic. Being searched for in SGA has to be a win!

We can battle because wow. I don't know what I was thinking when I used the title I did. I blame panic and realising I needed a title when I went to submit late.

It's so difficult to get a catchy title and summary. I have to admit, I like Sound Tracking too, but I like Bob in Spaaaaace! better :D

Really? I like BOB IN SPAAAACE, but Sound Tracking is so evocative of the universe you created, that I think I like it better than BiS.

Summaries are the bane of my existence. I blame every poorly received story on a bad summary, rightly or wrongly.

Well, I think my love of Bob in Spaaace! is more a memories thing. It's connected to the over all writing experience, and joking about the title while doing so.

Dude, me too. It's so much easier that way.

Excellent!

We can all be lame together. Then fight for the honour of lamest title of MtYG 2008!

I saw that and thought the same thing :-) And they didn't even have to make a terrible summary for someone to know what it was either!

I think almost everyone I know that writes fic complain about how hard it is to write summaries, why? You're WRITERS, shouldn't writing summaries be just another aspect of writing? There must be some people who don't think it's difficult, perhaps they should put together some sort of Summary Writing Tutorial.

I was very proud *g*

You know, I'm not even sure why I can't write a good summary. You're right, it is another form of writing, yet somehow I tend to end up with something really lame. It's a very sad thing.

Yes, but we complain just as much about the writing of the stories themselves, don't we? So no reason to complain any less about the summaries. ;p

I did. Though it helped that it's a very recognisable story. So I was happily reading the flist and was all, that's my story!

It's the little things that make me happy *g*

Your summaries do not suck, I object! Also, I have seen the most gorgeous stories with the most beautiful titles been described so awefully you'd think five-year-olds wrote the story. It's a hell of an amusing community, that's for sure!

And in response to you calling yourself a tiny fish in bandom: I think the orca has some delussional issues. Said with love, of course. :)

Well thank you <3

I love those communities so much, it's always fun trying to work out which stories are actually being asked for.

Okay, I guess I can be an orca, but a very small one *g*
