The MtYG authors were revealed last night and now I can thank [livejournal.com profile] bououou for writing my story, which made me laugh as I wrote for him last year. I suspected it was someone on my flist who'd written it because there were too many details that were tailored to what I like and have talked about. Well, that or someone was a masochist and had read back in my journal.

So thank you again Vincent for such a lovely story, which had braces kisses and a Chris/Kevin/JC threesome! Which is the biggest win ever!

I wrote A Tale of Festive Mugs and Christmas Hugs Didn't I say it was a lame title?

I was floored when I got my assignment. Not because of what I was asked for which was pretty much ideal for me, Trickc or Brian/Kevin, non-au set in the last 3 years, but who I had to write for. [livejournal.com profile] llamabitchyo is on my beta filter, I email her pretty much daily and to top it all I'd just written for her secretly in the JuC swap. For that challenge I'd set up a ninja filter, this time I really didn't want to deal with that again, plotting one story on my regular beta filter and writing one secretly. So I didn't use my filter at all. Which was a bad decision, I work better when I can throw ideas at people -- seriously, you don't want to know how many ideas never get off the ground. So I started late with no real idea where I was going.

Eventually I decided to go for utter schmoop. Inky had mentioned Christmas, coffee shops and hand holding in her Dear Santa, so I decided to go for pure fluff, something focussing on the fact JC had stopped with the music because he wanted to, that he has the security and enough money where he can decide he doesn't owe anyone anything and can just hang out building stuff and reading if he wants to. At which point I started to write, and the first scene flowed so well. Though I still sent it to [livejournal.com profile] nopseud for a second opinion, because I'm needy like that, then was thrilled when she said it worked and had no problems. Well, I was thrilled and also thinking that I'd jinxed myself and the story was bound to go wrong now. And it did.

Thankfully Nopseud is an amazing beta, so I rewrote and added and deleted and re-added and the story nearly doubled in size, and became something I really like, and something without a glistening rope of honey. I don't know, man. It slipped in, these things happen.

A few people guessed it was mine, Jacie even did so by the title alone, which, wow.

People seemed to like the story, which I was thrilled about, but I can say this. I hope to never have to get an assignment like that again. I hated lying to Inky, again, and I had to constantly think of what I was saying in case I gave myself away. Maybe I did, Inky never came out and said so but we did talk stories a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was made. Though it was suggested I'd written Sweet Like Coffee which included Mikey and Frank, which was a logical guess.

Anyway, if you didn't want to read all that, it comes down to, MtYG is an awesome exchange, I ended with a story I like for a person I think is fab, and [livejournal.com profile] nopseud is a beta star. I may have to buy her a peppermint mocha for a reward ;)

And for the bandom people, I had the pleasure to watch Sweet Like Coffee be written. It's by [livejournal.com profile] ephemera and I'm mentioning it here because it also features Mikey and Frank in important roles \o/

In other news. I've been feeling all meh and grrr today, so decided to go write, specifically on my pic for 1000 prompt. Instead of what I was going to write I now have over 500 words of MCR as mer people. I don't know, it just happened. Whether it ever goes public is debatable.

I laughed pretty hard when I saw your name in the request e-mail. :p
But it's a lot of fun writing for someone you know. Even if the stakes are higher.

I haven't read yours yet. But the tittle is very you.

Thank you ♥

Yep, I finished it too. But I've decided against using it for the challenge. I don't think the world is ready for sad, implied waycest, mer people fic *g*

You never entirely gave yourself away, my dear. It was only in the reading of it that I had any suspicions, but I also read Sweet Like Coffee and thought one or the other HAD to be you, and the other was likely to be [livejournal.com profile] ephemera or [livejournal.com profile] pensnest with you saying "Oh, by the way, throw in something about Jensen," etc.

I probably made it extra hard with all my babbling recently.

You are so the best!

I thought you had suspicions after the stories went live. It's nice to know you can pick out my stories though <3

Ha, I was right! I only doubted myself because I thought there was no way you could have gotten a trickc request. Of course, somebody has to get lucky every year. ;)

And I think the title is just perfect! It promises happy, warm vibes, and the story most definitely delivers. :)

Let's hope there'll be no more writing for Inky in the near future, even though it does result in fabulous fic. :)

The actual request itself couldn't have been more perfect, writing for Inky again, not so much.

Thank you ♥

This story is so much fun! I love the way Chris and JC approach each other, with that long basis of comfortable familiarity despite the period of distance and pining. And I love the note about Chris being on time for what he holds important. Also I really liked Justin's appearance - the way you write him seems so spot on. Plus also bonus Laura Ingalls Wilder! always a win! So very much yay.

I'm so glad you liked. The story is pure fluff but I think sometimes that's just what you need.

Thank you so much for letting me know.
