I quite like Lance's new hairdo it's interesting.

I was thrilled to find a lovely Mikey/Frank ficlet this morning on my friendsfriends read. It's by [livejournal.com profile] stereomer and is set when they were living together, which delighted me, because there should be many more stories about that time.

While I'm throwing links around [livejournal.com profile] nokomis305 is thinking about setting up a community for the non-FBR bands of bandom. Poll is here

I now have 3000 words of the Panic/MCR shelter story, and haven't even finished the second scene. What happened to those days when 10k was a long fic?

Corey's school has just emailed and phoned to let me know he has half an hour's detention tomorrow. He also had a letter but said he'd forgotten about it, which, yeah. It seems he got 15 minutes for being late and missing assembly, then didn't turn up for that detention, so it's been doubled. While this is the first time he's been in trouble at the school, his first late in fact, he's going to learn that he just can't forget about stuff. So he's not allowed on the computer or X Box tonight. Which is why he's wandering the house like a lost soul. He turns 13 in a few weeks, and man, can you tell.

(I seriously can't believe I ever thought he was hot. I was only 14 at the time, so what did I know?)

I have to confess that I am not a fan of the new Lance hairdo at all. It's like a mohawk mullet, and as a Southern boy, he should know better than to court any form of mullet.

Mohawk mullet is the perfect description. That and a nod to Vanilla Ice.

It's strangely reminiscent of Frank's (http://pics.livejournal.com/turloughishere/pic/00hb7typ) hair (http://pics.livejournal.com/turloughishere/pic/00hb1t7w) style (http://pics.livejournal.com/turloughishere/pic/00hb8aya) back in early 2003 :-)

What happened to those days when 10k was a long fic?

You got over it? ;-)

Awwww, Corey's starting to behave like a real teenager, so cute!

It is! If Lance starts with the eye make-up we know he's a secret fan *g*

I wish I could get back into it. Still, the long stories tend to be balanced out by the really short.

It's not cute! He's in his room now but keeps coming down saying he's got nothing to do, but tough.

Strangely enough he reads a lot, but only in the bath and in bed. It didn't seem to click he could do so in the time he's usually on his x box. He's drawing now though, so all is calm.

I don't actually mind Lance's new hair. Perhaps not his best look ever, but certainly not nearly as horrible as people on my FL would have me believe. :)

So what does FBR mean? I like to keep track of fandom acronyms. :)

I like the haircut too! I'm a firm believer that hair is for goofing around with, not handling delicately like it's your first born.

The comments are amusing.

That's a fantastic way to think. I mean, it does come down to, hair grows. If you mess it up too much it'll come back.

That has been my experience, yes. *g*

I did, however, get drunk st my sister's graduation when I was 19 and then let my friend cut my hair. That was bad. I had to wear a hat for weeks.

But as long as excessive alcohol isn't involved, I see no reason not to approach hair with a sense of adventure.

I like the hair, but those racing stripes (uh... that's what we called them when I was 8, I think they say 'steps' elsewhere in the world) are a bit awkward. They should be longer... or something?

ext_1650: (Blow him JC!)

I agree, the cut itself but the stripes are a little short. I'm just going to think he did them himself and couldn't reach back any further *g*

Wow - first detention! You've done so well to get him to (nearly) 13 with him being such an exemplary student. I have to admit that the thought of puberty scares the hell out of me - though the boyo is totally welcome to cut his hair however he wants.

I'm not so fond of Lance's new cut, but it'll grow and he'll change it eventually. It could be worse. He's having fun playing with it (perhaps inspried by Lacey?). Of course I'd have more fun if he'd let me play with it *G*. I'm quite admiring his scarf which looks like a handmade thing, obviously the work of JC (I can still dream).

Ah, the terrible teens. A lot of growing pains in the early years. You & James have done a wonderful job with Corey, so I'd imagine the teen years may not be as rough as some families tend to go through.
