No sleeps!
Mar. 27th, 2009 01:24 pmJames is raising money for the Scout trip today. He's having a bushtrucker trial at work, and last night brought home many disgusting things he has to eat, many of them alive. Honestly, just thinking about it turns my stomach but he's got a lot of sponsor money riding on this, and apparently, a cast iron stomach.
While he's doing that I'm pottering around getting ready for my guests. The spare room has been de-junked so you can actually get at the bed. Corey's tidied his room and set himself a bed up in our room for the weekend. I have food and drink and have checked the lava lamp is plugged in -- sadly one of the bulbs doesn't work on one of them. I feel two lava lamps bubbling away would be quite atmospheric, and I could take bets on how long it would take to slash them.
Silver space bulls with red eyes! It's been too long.
I've just finished the first beta of the Panic shelter story of h/c doom. This is after adding many scenes, one of which I got to the end of and realised I'd forgotten to write Jon into, even though he was there at the time. In total it ended up just under 69k, and I'd say I'd try and add more to get to that magical 70, but no doubt that'll come in beta.
It's blowing a hoolie outside and rubbish is all over my garden. Stupid wind. I hate it so.

Date: 2009-03-27 05:39 pm (UTC)YAY SHELTER FIC!
Well, 69 is, of course, a great number, but how could anyone wish for less than 70k from you if they can have more, right?

Date: 2009-03-27 07:07 pm (UTC)Thankfully MCR are distracting me. OMG! Sis, did you see? Pete and Mikey talking again. Ray worried about Mikey at the dentist. It's probably good I am alone just now as I squeed most disgracefully.
Shelter fic is nearly done! I can hardly believe it.
Ahahaha. Yeah. More is always better. 70 seems quite magical.

Date: 2009-03-27 07:53 pm (UTC)I'm sure I will have fun. They're an awesome bunch.
Blowing a hoolie = gale force winds. I guess it's a regional thing. I just hate wind in general. It's so destructive.

Date: 2009-03-27 08:42 pm (UTC)AJ is in for bad weather right now too. And yesterday, I was talking to my family back in Texas and the hale was totaling the cars and putting people in the hospital it was so bad. Austin has no more rental cars in like the whole city. I like the phrase (blowing a hoolie) though.

Date: 2009-03-29 06:39 pm (UTC)That's true, more story is always better. Except I'd like to finish it sometime. Still, it's a story that I want to be done right so if it needs it I'll add more. And moan while doing so *g*
Weather sucks at time. Hail always seems so destructive, and also sudden. I hope your family was okay.
