Somehow I've managed to lose my mobile. How I don't know, there's only me and the animals in the house and I didn't actually go anywhere yesterday. I take it to bed with me at night, that and the house phone, and the house phone is on my desk, so where my mobile is I don't know. Ringing it is out too as it has a dodgy battery that loses charge really quickly.

The first pictures have started to be uploaded for the France trip. There's only one clear one of Corey and James so far, but there's one that made me laugh where they'd been white water rafting and behind the raft there's a line of scouts bobbing in the river. Apparently it's been raining really hard so the rivers were up, causing a rocky ride. It's also meant they've had to cancel the gorge walking trip due to the high levels, so right now James is supervising the abseiling while Corey's up at the mountain hut. While I'm enjoying the quiet I do miss them. I was talking to James last night and it sounded like he was in the next room, not another country.

I've been watching so much TV lately, catching up on all my downloaded shows. The last few days I've been on a CSI kick, though Ray continues to annoy me. He's a level one level two CSI! Why does he get to do everything, know everything, solve everything? More than that. Needs more Greg/Nick, stat! I still haven't reached the end of the season yet, so no spoilers please.

I've also been writing. More of the Mikey/Bob, and a few thousands words of my totally indulgent runaway Panic boys saved by the Ways. Already Ryan's been hit by a car. I suspect it'll be another story where my betas want to back away slowly. But I'll be good. I know that with hurt has to come equal comfort. I was playing at anon_lovefest yesterday, too. I'll probably post that later, not officially to comms or anything because I write there for fun which means no beta, though I do send to sperrywink first for a read over, make sure I'm not about to embarrass myself with utter rubbish.

Other than that, it's more uploading of stories to AO3. Which is always time consuming, not that the actual uploading is hard, but the damn tags take forever.

ETA: Now I'm sitting listening to Take a Vacation stream. It's a good way to spend a rainy day.

I found my phone stuffed between the couch cushions. How it got there I don't know. I'm just glad it turned up.

I've just been looking at more pictures and Corey looks wet through and filthy, and thoroughly enjoying himself. So yeah, they're being all macho at the moment *g*

I find it deeply delightful to hear you're working on what sounds like more excellent h/c fic. I love the idea of the Ways rescuing Panic. Is it Gerard driving the car that hit Ryan? That fic plus Bob/Mikey? *high pitched glee noises*

I swear I saw your anon_lovefest fic but now it's vanished so many I'm imagining things. I can never decide how many/what tags to use on AO3. I don't want to use too many but whenever I search AO3 I keep wishing authors would use lots and lots of tags. Sorry the weather's been bad but it sounds like they're having fun anyway which is good.

I'm so thrilled with my h/c fic. It's been a while since I've indulged. Sadly it's not Gerard that hits Ryan, though that would have been a great plot point and actually would make Gerard's insistence that Ryan go home with him more believable due to guilt. Gah, I may be doing a little re-writing today.

I did post my anon_lovefest then made it private. I get nervous sometimes, especially with the un beta read stuff.

It takes me ages to tag over at AO3. Especially my longer stories that have multiple bands and things going on. Sometimes it takes me over five minutes just to write in all the characters.

If I do have phone-stealing brownies I wish they'd steal something more useful. Like the rubbish that needs taking out.

I have to upload my popslash fic to AO3 and I'm not looking forward to it at all. None of the stories have ratings or warnings, I'll have to work all that out.

Well you know, Gerard needed to meet him somehow, a nice hit and run seemed to fit. I stopped with Gerard trying to persuade Ryan to come back to the house, being as he refused to go to hospital or any kind of clinic.

Ryan's not happy with that idea, especially as he needs to get back to the others. But considering he's bleeding everywhere he doesn't really get a choice.

Not that I have much more to tell right now. The story is very much in the planning part, which feels good because I know it's going to be a fun ride.

Anyway! Gerard eventually gets Ryan to go home with him -- which takes a while because Ryan's really defensive and thinks Gerard is trying to pick him up or something while all Gerard wants to do is get him somewhere warm and stop him bleeding.

So they head off. Gerard juggling his art stuff while wanting to offer Ryan a shoulder to lean on. Ryan of course is having none of it. Ryan's also wearing a hat with a bedraggled peacock feather -- it's why Gerard noticed him in the first place. Well that and the fact Ryan wasn't wearing a coat on a really cold night.

They get back to the Way house and Mikey just rolls with Gerard turning up with this half-starved, frozen and bleeding stranger. Between them they get him cleaned up and bring a hot drink and blanket, and Ryan means to leave within minutes because he knows the others will be frantic. Instead he falls asleep and wakes up hours later. Which is when he takes off, taking the blanket but leaving his hat behind.

Then it'll be Gerard trying to find him and getting Mikey to use his contacts to help, to ask around and see if anyone has seen this kid. Gerard draws a picture to help, not exact but enough that someone remembers seeing someone like that living rough.

And that's what Ryan's doing. Living rough with Brendon, Spencer and Jon and they eventually agree to go back and stay with the Ways for a while and I don't even know. The details are still sparse but I want Ryan and Mikey to form a weird friendship and for Brendon to learn how to laugh again and things to get better, before Ryan gets spooked and they all run off again, leaving Gerard heart broken.

Because he's starting to get happy. It's not an ideal living situation by any means. The house is crowded and sometimes it feels like it's one drama after another but despite all that Ryan realises he's in a place where people genuinely care for him, that he's got good friends that have his back always, even when he tries to push them away.

There's food to eat and blankets to hide under and the better things get the more he's sure they're about to be pulled away. Because that's what always happens. People leave or die and he knows it's his fault that happens. And he's not stupid, he knows both Mikey and Gerard have battled their own issues and the last thing Ryan wants to do is bring them down. So he runs again. It's what he always does.

I haven't decided yet. On one hand it would make sense he'd take off alone. But that would take the story even close to When Day Is Night Alone, and I'd rather that didn't happen.

They could all run together. Spencer telling Ryan he's an idiot even as he vows he'll never leave him alone. Where Ryan goes so does Spencer, and Brendon and Jon.

Them something tragic could happen so Ryan can really blame himself.

There has been a general increase in Nick&Greg, they're allowed to be in scenes together, work cases together, have little jokes. It's part of what has won me back. Oh show, just when I thought I could quit you!

YES! OMG YES!

I am watching season 10 but had totally blanked on him going up a level. Probably because he makes me grit my teeth so much I've started to fade out when he's onscreen. He's so.. argh. Marty Stu is the perfect description.

I've just watched the ep with the comic being killed by ice and enjoyed the Nick and Greg a lot. I'm glad that there's some increase in screen time for them because at one point they were pretty much background characters.

It was a scene in the first ep of the season, he was all "I PAID FOR IT MYSELF!" and Ecklie was like "I know, I'm promoting you, shut up" ugh. I sort of hate him. And I HATE how they've started calling him Dr Ray, like they did in Miami during the triple cross, WHICH ONLY RAY REALLY PARTICIPATED IN. Blegh.

I'm loving Nick as deputy shift leader, he's really properly coming into himself as a confident leader, teacher, boss etc. And GREG getting to be competent and caring and stuff.

I'm even not hating Sara!
