My box set came yesterday, and I got Kobra Kid's raygun \o/ I may have worn the mask already, people will never know.

themoononastick also went home yesterday, which was sad. Though maybe it was for the best as she was shamelessly encouraging my story ideas. But now I have BBB ideas, and a schedule for how to get everything done time wise. The first part of that being I had to start and finish my picfor1000 story last night. Which I failed. However, I did manage 600 words so I give myself a \o Which has now changed to a \o/ as since I started this I've got my 1000 words.

I've started catching up on LJ/DW today and all the MCR stuff has been delighting me. From the adorable footage from the Grammy museam to Gerard's amazing acceptance speech at the NME awards last night, I've pretty much spent the last few hours making heart-eyes at my monitor. I also really enjoyed watching the absolute radio interview with Mikey and Gerard

Oh wow you bring the best mikey pics. I adore the facial expressions he makes while Gerard is responding to interview questions. What is he thinking about?? Fluffy bunnies? It's definitely not whatever Gerard is talking about. His private amusement is fascinating.

I wish it was possible to see inside Mikey's head. I bet he has some amazing thoughts, all fluffy, happy and yet also the kind of dry humour that tends to pass people by.

I bet he's a people watcher, making private observations to amuse himself.

I got my set today!! (And yesterday I got my poster!) I got Jet Star's gun and mask. I haven't tried the mask on yet but I have played with the gun :-)

Yay! for BBB ideas and for writing the pic1000 story!!

I've just caught up on both the NME footage and the Grammy museum footage. They're really too adorable for words. And so awesome! I didn't think it was possible to feel so 100% purely positive about something but I really do about this band.

I'm still so impressed with the guns. I mean, the mask is kind of cheaply made, but the rest makes up for that.

I keep getting caught up with footage watching and then more appears, which is fantastic but it makes fandom a full time thing at times.

OH! And I got the Kobra Kid set too! And I have totally ran around my house with the mask making 'pew-pew' noises with it. And i may have tried a karate move or two. only my kitties know for sure.

my bff is extremely sad. she has only gotten into mcr since i dragged her ass in a car 10 hours to see them in St. Louis in Dec. (yes she is a really good bff. but then so i am, because once she saw them in concert, she wanted to know everything about them all the way home. lucky for her i am such a fangirl and could teach a class on them) she wants the red set so bad. So I bought her a NES light gun online (the closest i found to the shape of it) and am going to paint her up her own gun.


I have only heard about ppl getting either Jet Star's or Kobra Kid's. Anyone know anybody with PPoison's or FGhoul's? I would love to see pic of them upclose.

I was so happy to get the Kobra Kid set. I do genuinely love all the band but you know, Mikey. So I sort of inched the box open, and then flailed for the longest time. Then pew pewed my cat *g*

That is sad about your BFF, but I'm sure the band would support the making of a home made gun, I mean, it fits into their art is the weapon message perfectly.

One of my friends got Party Poisons and someone on mikeyway_daily got FGhoul's. I actually think there was a pic of the first one on another comm. Hold on, let me go see.

"You okay?"

Mikey peered up at Ray sleepily, blinking as he tried to process the question. His brain felt slow and sticky, like he'd just woken up rather than just had a cup of coffee.

"What? Yeah, I'm fine."

He could've sworn that a minute ago he had been doing something - watching the show that was playing right in front of him, maybe? or reading the trade that was sitting on his lap? - but right then, he honestly couldn't remember what.

Hauling his legs over on the couch so Ray had room to sit down, he pushed his hair back out of his eyes and smiled.

"Sorry, totally spaced out on you there. I wa up late partying hard with Bandit last night, you know how it is."

Well, where 'late' was 8:30pm and 'partying hard' was taking the occasional soft toy to the face and tickling her until she giggled maniacally. (All of which had left him unduly exhausted and with an even greater level of respect for Lyn and Gerard than he'd had before).

"Still on UK time, huh?" Ray said, sitting down and grinning as Mikey yawned into his fist. "Well, hey, no worries. You take a nap and I'll just finish this tiramisu here by myself."

Mikey looked down, only then clocking the bowl and spoons in Ray's hands. It really should have been appealing, all those layers of cream and coffee and sponge, but apart from the thought that the mix of sugar and caffeine might help him stay awake longer, he couldn't really summon any enthusiasm.

"You go for it."

"Really?" Ray said incredulously, making Mikey smile with his mixture of surprise and horror. "You're not even gonna try and fight me for it?"

"It's all yours," Mikey said. "I won't even tell Gerard that you were the one who got to it."

The tickle in the back of his throat was just a minor annoyance at first. It made him cough a couple of times when pulled back the covers first thing in the morning, but it was no big deal. By the time he'd had some breakfast and returned some calls, it had mostly faded away.

It wasn't until he was on the way to the park to meet Gerard and B for comics, coffee, and slides (11am sharp every Wednesday to coincide with new releases) that it resurfaced. The cold air made his throat scratch more and more until he had to pause on the side of the street and try and cough it the tickle away, wishing for something hot and sticky to ease the ache.

He had his hoodie pulled up by the time he reached the other two but Gerard just nodded at him sagely, handing over a paper cup. "Nice one on tucking the hair out of yanking range."

Mikey smiled and took the coffee gratefully, cradling it in his hands and then taking a healthy sip so the warmth could soothe his throat.

"Hey," he said, a little croakily. "The only reason she tries to pull your hair is because she can't get you down the slide with her any other way."

"I don't fit down the slide!" Gerard protested. "It wasn't made for thirty-year olds."

Mikey hid his grin behind his cup and waved as Bandit spotted him sitting down on the bench. He knew he ought to be asking Gerard to remind him to pick up some cough syrup on the way back, but with a giant bundle of energy otherwise known as his niece running towards them, he forgot.

By Friday, he was wearing two hoodies to practice and zoning out as Gerard and Frank talked about tweaking the setlist for the upcoming tour. The only way he was keeping up with them was by chain-sucking lozenges and trying not to laugh so he didn't get hit by a coughing fit.

He was hot under the hoodies, but the moment he took a layer off he was instantly cold, so he kept them on even when Gerard offered to crank up the heating.

If he was 100% honest with himself, he wanted nothing more than to be at home in his bed with take-out, 80s movies, and an electric blanket. (And maybe someone dressed as Wonder Woman to mop his brow.) But Frank was out in L.A. with them specially, away from his girls again, and Mikey didn't want to screw things up by not being there. Not if it meant Frank might have to stay longer to wait for him to get better.

"Yo Mikey," Frank yodelled, like he could read thoughts. "Yay or nay to SCARECROW live?"

"Sure," Mikey said, flushing as he looked, trying to get back into the conversation. "Yeah, that's cool."

Frank frowned, looking at him confusedly. "Yes is cool or no is cool?"

"Yes," Mikey clarified embarrassedly. "Is cool, I mean. Wait - are we taking something else out or just adding it or -"

"I don't really want take something out," Gerard said, sighing and flicking at dust on his jeans. "Maybe we could just slot it in for a couple of shows."

"Rotate it with Bulletproof?" Ray suggested.

Frank was still looking at Mikey. "You okay, dude? If you're not so hyped about that one for the stage, that's fine."

"No, it's cool," Mikey said, guilt pooling in his stomach. "Sorry, I have this weird headache." He flexed his hands uselessly and then stood up. "I'm just gonna get some water and pop some aspirin, actually. I'll be right back."

Maybe if he sat down somewhere else and opened a window, or pressed his forehead against something cold, he'd feel a bit better. Or enough to go back in and make sense, anyway.
