Corey being off school has thrown me today, and I keep thinking it's Saturday. But no, it's Friday, glorious Friday.

We went to Ikea earlier, and they don't sell the vegetarian hot dogs any more! I was so sad, that was a big part of the Ikea experience, get trapped like mice in a maze, follow the arrows for hours and trudge past things you never knew you even needed. Then at the end, when you finally emerge blinking into natural light, there's the cafe that sells 50p vegetarian hot dogs. Except, they don't now D: Then we headed over to Metro Centre as Corey had been presented with a gift card by the school. One that no one had activated so he couldn't actually spend it. But we did buy two glasses, a lint roller and a candle. And I was very tempted by a stuffed broccoli plushie, but alas, it didn't come home with me.

I've been catching up on LJ and one interview I really liked was this one with Mike, which was an interesting read, especially seeing how it ties in with those tweets about hot tubbing with Mikey and Alicia. I've probably missed people talking about tis elsewhere, but what kept catching my eye was this Last July he got a call from Mikey Way, bass player of My Chemical Romance, offering Pedicone an audition. "I was in Hawaii with my wife, and he wanted to try me out, because one, obviously mentally I'm about five, and two, it prompted lovely thoughts about Mikey trying out the drummers before letting them into the band. I mean, he wanted Bob, so it fits. And if that extended to Matt, well that's fine also. Which is why I have new personal canon, and very lovely it is too.

Welcome to a Swedish Ikea store, they've never sold vegetarian hotdogs :-) Did you buy anything at Ikea, or was that only at the Metro Centre? A stuffed broccoli plushie sounds adorable.

We didn't buy anything at the time. Just went to price some picture frames. How we managed that I don't know, as something usually falls into that blue bag.

Oh, I didn't know Mikey wanted Bob to join. I mean, maybe I can hazily recall smth like that, but do you have any links to interviews where they talk about it?

Sadly I don't have any links that I can actually remember. Just that Mikey asked Bob to tech for free.

Hopefully more organised people will actually have links they can reply with.

It's like, on one hand I love that it gives added info about the hot tub tweets and how Mike actually got asked to join. But on the other. Mikey wanted to try him out! I mean, come on, how else was I supposed to take that?!

It has to be a dirty snigger. I was reading and double took at that. It's good to know other people have dirty minds too \o/

There needs to be fic, yes. Along the lines of if you want to be in the band you need to pass Mikey's rigorous standards first. If he can't try you out don't even apply.

I'm not surprised, though, that Mikey would be the deciding factor in drummers from a serious standpoint--he is the bass player; he and the drummer have to have a rapport and work together well, I think. And Frank and of course Ray to some degree, but the whole rhythm section especially has to be tight.

Yeah. That does make sense. That backbone would have to be strong. I'd like to read more interviews that deal with the music, as it's always interesting.

Alicia in a hot tub. Yes please. Can you imagine though, having that kind of conversation with Mikey and Alicia in a hot tub. While I'm sure they did the actual serious part first, I'd like to think they were lounging there and discussing the band.
