The weather is so lovely here just now, sunny and warm, and perfect for pottering in the garden.

As promised to some people, pictures of my garden, greenhouse etc.

Our little greenhouse ♥ It's just a nice size for that part of the garden, leaving just enough room for some containers at the side and a small, sunny paved/gravelled area between the window and the greenhouse. We've got milk crates there that make excellent seats, and once I've washed Tex's cushion I intend to leave it there for outside sitting. I thought it would be a nice way to remember him and the cushion is easily put inside if it rains.

Photobucket

A close up of that area. Pretty much everything we use to garden is recycled. The pots are old flower buckets we got for free from a local flower shop and of course, milk crate seats and the old TV unit that makes a perfect work area.

Photobucket

This is what I've planted today. It's a bush we bought to remember Tex. Hopefully it'll grow.

Photobucket

Inside the greenhouse. Right now we're growing tomatoes, courgettes, radishes, salad leaves, a cucumber, chilli pepper, sweet peppers, basil, beans, spring onions, bell peppers, and assorted flowers.

Beans. Which will be going outside soon, ready to climb up the wall.

Photobucket

Two containers of onions with mint in the middle.

Photobucket

You can just see the onions starting to grow.

Photobucket

And finally, this is the other part of our garden, which is a weird cut off triangle shape with that stupid brick shed in the middle. That's drift wood we brought home from the beach.

Now all we need to do is get some kind of mower/strimmer to sort out the poor excuse for a lawn. Also, grow all the things!

I'm so envious of your good weather. We've had overcast and very windy and ONLY +5C here for the last couple of days! I'm freezing to death!!

Look at your greenhouse! Everything is so neat and pretty! And look at all your plants, so green and vigorous and bursting with life. I'm really looking forward to hearing your reports how everything is doing. With pictures!

It looks as if you're making tremendously productive use of a small space. Loads of fresh stuff! I wonder, is it too late for me to plant courgettes, if I find some? They seem like my kind of plant. Although, deserting my toms and strawberries for a week has to be a bit dodgy. It doesn't seem right to pray for rain while at Camp!

For the record, I have to confess that I squeed when I saw the bebeh!onion leaves coming through the dirt. :)

Not great, but we'll see. I might have to wait a bit for some of them until the rain stops and we get some steady weather.

Looks awesome, and it's cool that you have so many different plants there.

That piece of driftwood looks great, like something you'd find in a Japanese garden. :)

Your plants look great. Awesome job on getting the onions to come up. They're supposed to be pretty impossible to grow.

Thank you!

Honestly we grow things more by accident than any skill, everything must have fallen into place for the onions :)

I like our little greenhouse :)

Oh, we kill stuff too. I should have taken a picture of the poor palm tree tomatoes we had last year. Poor things got pruned within an inch of their lives *g*

It is a lovely space.

There's something very satisfying in growing your own food.

How wonderful that all is. It's very satisfying to grow your own food. Larry is too distracted to plant his garden this year, and he won't be here much anyway, so I'm trying to think of how to do it on a smaller scale, just for me.

Great pics! Using the TV unit is a great idea, too, to help conserve space. Good luck with your tomatoes and green beans. If you ever need planting advice, you can check out The Farmer's Almanac (http://www.almanac.com/plants/type/vegetable). My dad swears by that book and it's always been a big help to us.

That greenhouse of yours is impressive! I didn't realise you were growing so many things - must be a nice feeling to see all those vegetables grow and know you're the one who did it. I'm totally impressed :-)

aww this is lovely! The plants look so happy in the sunshine :-) I love to see beans growing, how they shoot up and start climbing! We only had a small balcony when I grew up, so tomatoes, sunflowers, zucchinis etc. worked well, but stuff that needed deeper soil didn't.
Never tried growing onions. They look cute peeking up :-)

I really like how ramshackle our garden looks. It feels comfy when I'm pottering around and I love that.

I have so much mint, and I was so impressed that it grew back like magic after winter. Also, baby salad greens are so tasty.

The beans are crazy. They're growing inches within days at the moment, I think they have plans to take over the world.

I'm hoping the onions actually work out. We didn't have the best luck with the root veggies last year, so here's hoping.

It's the perfect size for us, and being plastic means cheap too, which is always a bonus.

I suspect we may have planted too much again as once they start growing there's going to be an issue space wise. But it's so hard throwing away seedlings.
