May. 4th, 2011 05:13 pmThe weather is so lovely here just now, sunny and warm, and perfect for pottering in the garden.
As promised to some people, pictures of my garden, greenhouse etc.
Our little greenhouse ♥ It's just a nice size for that part of the garden, leaving just enough room for some containers at the side and a small, sunny paved/gravelled area between the window and the greenhouse. We've got milk crates there that make excellent seats, and once I've washed Tex's cushion I intend to leave it there for outside sitting. I thought it would be a nice way to remember him and the cushion is easily put inside if it rains.

A close up of that area. Pretty much everything we use to garden is recycled. The pots are old flower buckets we got for free from a local flower shop and of course, milk crate seats and the old TV unit that makes a perfect work area.

This is what I've planted today. It's a bush we bought to remember Tex. Hopefully it'll grow.

Inside the greenhouse. Right now we're growing tomatoes, courgettes, radishes, salad leaves, a cucumber, chilli pepper, sweet peppers, basil, beans, spring onions, bell peppers, and assorted flowers.

Beans. Which will be going outside soon, ready to climb up the wall.

Two containers of onions with mint in the middle.

You can just see the onions starting to grow.

And finally, this is the other part of our garden, which is a weird cut off triangle shape with that stupid brick shed in the middle. That's drift wood we brought home from the beach.

Now all we need to do is get some kind of mower/strimmer to sort out the poor excuse for a lawn. Also, grow all the things!

Date: 2011-05-04 04:58 pm (UTC)Honestly we grow things more by accident than any skill, everything must have fallen into place for the onions :)

Date: 2011-05-04 05:00 pm (UTC)Oh, we kill stuff too. I should have taken a picture of the poor palm tree tomatoes we had last year. Poor things got pruned within an inch of their lives *g*

Date: 2011-05-05 06:48 pm (UTC)I'm hoping the onions actually work out. We didn't have the best luck with the root veggies last year, so here's hoping.

Date: 2011-05-05 06:50 pm (UTC)I suspect we may have planted too much again as once they start growing there's going to be an issue space wise. But it's so hard throwing away seedlings.
