I'm starting to think that h/c is this big catch-all term that people use for all sorts of stories. I mean, what's the similarity between "trapped between realities" and "surgery"? One is a fantasy trope and the other a medical procedure, they don't have anything in commong. I'm just getting more and more baffled by this category.

Do we know where/when that photo is from?

Honestly, I doubt it's possible to narrow h/c down in terms of definition. Many people use it in different ways, even people like me who love the genre.

It's just a big label for many kinds of stories.

I have to admit, learning to be loved makes me think about hooker fic, and I don't even know why. But robots wanting love. That is such a cool idea.

Yeah, that does scream Sliders. Or some kind of Flatliners thing, that would be cool.
